Vikings' decision in '09 to look past Harvin's smoking looks genius now
Next headline.
It's not the smoking that has me annoyed.
It's that he was too fucking stupid to lay off the bong before the most important drug test of his life.
And now he's already in the NFL's program, so if he fucks up again, it's 4 games.
I couldn't care less if he wants to get high.
How much did it cost him? He still got picked in the first round. No real punishment at all.
Read what I wrote again.
He's already in the NFL's program.
One strike - of any kind - and it's 4 fucking games.
One more strike for Pat and Kevin and they are gone for the year. I don't here you bitching about them.
Different policies.
Different circumstances.

Stop bobbing on Percy's cock long enough to consider the realities of the situation.
They are not different. Both drugs. The reality is playmakers score TDs. The situation is nothing. He has a clean slate. Until he does something wrong, lay off his ass.
Pot is covered under the a different NFL policy (substance abuse) than the diuretics (performance-enhancing).

So, yes, they are different.
Sometimes, you are really dense.

He does NOT have a clean slate.
He failed an official NFL drug test, that puts him in the program.
Next offense, 4 games.
He showed his stupidity, arrogance and immaturity by not keeping himself clean for the most important test of his life.

KWill and Phat Pat were trying to lose weight and were fucked by a company that added an unlisted substance to a drug, illegally.
That's why that company is now out of business and why a judge issued an injunction.
Sorry to confuse you with the facts.

I hope Percy does prove me wrong.
I hope, uh, that, uh, he isn't as, uh, dumb, uh, as he, uh, appears to be, uh.

=Z=
Don't cheer for him then. I don't give a shit. A drug is a drug. Get your facts straight. Who uses dense anymore?

My facts are straight.
Did you even read what I wrote?
TWO DIFFERENT POLICIES.
TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SETS OF CIRCUMSTANCES.

The performance-enhancing policy, for example, gives 4 games after the FIRST infraction - hence the attempted suspension of KWill and Pat after one failed test.

More straight facts there.
Will you read them?

Attempted? You act like it is over.
As of now, they haven't been suspended, have they?
That's an attempt, not a success.
Is Harvin suspended?
Nope.
Never said he was.
But he, uh, couldn't keep himself, uh, clean, uh, before the, uh, most important, uh, drug test, uh, of his, uh, life.

That's, uh, not, uh, very smart.

=Z=

Vikings' decision in '09 to look past Harvin's smoking looks genius now
Next headline.
It's not the smoking that has me annoyed.
It's that he was too fucking stupid to lay off the bong before the most important drug test of his life.
And now he's already in the NFL's program, so if he fucks up again, it's 4 games.
I couldn't care less if he wants to get high.
How much did it cost him? He still got picked in the first round. No real punishment at all.
Read what I wrote again.

injury. The teams a head of us did not skip AD because he was injuried. All of the picks made were logical.

Jamarcus - Needed a QB
Johnson - Got the WR version of Peterson in the draft
Thomas - Took the Top OL in the draft ( the Peterson of the Oline)
Landry - Dominating safter and they already had Portist and Betts.

ETC
Comeon, the going in stance by most pundints were that we had CT. No way would they go RB especially one that was projected to miss a considerable amount of his rookie season IF the injury needed to be addressed (ala the plate).

Lest we forget. :
Actually Mar I am going to have to complete disagree with you on this one. Almost every single mock draft I read in the last week or so leading into that draft had us taking Adrian Peterson. I remember sitting here saying we could go Quinn ... but it is likely we are taking Peterson.
Nothing I read had indicated that AD was going to "miss considerable time" due to his current injury. But many pundits said he was "injury prone."
All that aside ... almost every mock had us going Adrian Peterson at 7 that year or had him off the board before we picked.
That is just a few I can find two years later.

Had us picking him

LOL ... it is really funny to find some of the "pre-combine" drafts from 2007 though that have Dwayne Jarrett going in the top 10.
What does a bunch of mock drafts developed by yutzs like me prove?
Hell, even I had him going to the Vikes eventually.

Doesn't mean that the talking heads didn't think it was the greatest pick.
Hell, just search this site and go find the articles from guys like Powers and crew to see how well recieved the pick was.
Almost to a man, they believed he would miss time in his rookie year.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

What's not to like, given Peterson's 3,101 rushing yards in two seasons (including a league-best 201,760 in 2008)

Anybody else catch this?
I bet San Diego feels like he ran for that much against them in 07.
...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again. And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.
