If it makes too much sense for the better of the team, don't count on it happening.

He's a free lancing safety, not the best fit for a Tampa 2 scheme unless you want to change the scheme just before the start of the season. Pats cut him cause the staff didn't think he was listening

Time and again, Meriweather did too much free lancing, not enough listening.

    Maybe they can sign Sharper.
Not sure why everyone wants Sharp back based on our scheme.

Go back and look at Sharps production as a PUKER and before the Chiller (allowed to freelance) then look at it in our Cover 2 (coudn't free lance). Then go and look at his production when he got to the Aint's (allowed to freelance).

In short, he had 9 in 05, 9 in 06, 07, and 08 and 9 in 09. He just isn't a cover 2 S, atleast not in the area you all want to see (Int's).
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

    (Fixed it for you)

And there in lies the problem with not allowing the safety to freelance at times. Lack of turnovers.

Had they allowed Sharper to freelance more, our turnovers would have been greater. More turnovers in our favor, means more opportunity for us to score & win. Guess our coaches didn't want that.

Yes you run the risk of giving up a big play once in awhile, but getting 5-8 more turnovers per year is greater than giving up 1 or 2 big plays.

Granted, you can't allow just any old safety to do this, the safety has to be good enough & talented enough to do it, like Sharper was.

Lets not forget Sharper's 9 INT's helped his team go to the SB as a Saint.

I'm not saying that we should go out & sign Sharper by any means. What I am saying is that if you have a gifted & talented player that can freelance successfully, adjust your scheme some to allow him to utilize his talents.

If you don't, you've just taken a talented & gifted play maker and made him an everyday run of the mill solid player & hurt your team because of it.

In case you haven't noticed the current staff has this thing they call adjusting the scheme to fit the talent. I can send you a link if you need it. At any rate that translates to the following:

Our current ones suck and they are not interested in adjusting the scheme to fit a sucky player but they will do it for a good one.

Personally I don't think he has any gas left in the tank but if it gets the proper response I am all for throwing it out there lol.

I want to see the C-2 scrapped.
