You're insane not to highlight Carson Palmer, especially if you highlight Leftwich.Wildman told me that a couple of the ESPN talking heads (he thought is was PTI) were talking about the number of teams that have veteran QB's starting this year that make them feel comfortable at the QB position was 10 or less.
I missed it so I did a bit of research (not much mind you) and listed who I think is or will start at the QB position for each team.
Bolded are the ones that I think could fall into the catagory of "Make Me Comfortable".
How I determined that catagory was a) They have demonstrated over several years that they can win or b) Have over 5 years starting in the league (not sitting on a bench. For teams like the Raiders/Jags were the competition is still being contested I didn't bold someone like Culpepper or Leftwich.
Again, not alot of thought put into this but I did find it pretty interesting the number of young kids QB'ing in the NFL today.
Brady, Tom New England Patriots
Brees, Drew New Orleans Saints
Bulger, Marc St. Louis Rams
Campbell, Jason Washington Redskins
Croyle, Brodie Kansas City Chiefs
Culpepper, Daunte Oakland Raiders
Cutler, Jay Denver Broncos
Delhomme, Jake Carolina Panthers
Favre, Brett Green Bay Packers
Frye, Charlie Cleveland Browns
Garcia, Jeff Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Garrard, David Jacksonville Jaguars
Green, Trent Miami Dolphins
Grossman, Rex Chicago Bears
Harrington, Joey Atlanta Falcons
Hasselbeck, Matt Seattle Seahawks
Huard, Damon Kansas City Chiefs
Jackson, Tarvaris Minnesota Vikings
Kitna, Jon Detroit Lions
Leftwich, Byron Jacksonville Jaguars
Leinart, Matt Arizona Cardinals
Losman, J.P. Buffalo Bills
Manning, Eli New York Giants
Manning, Peyton Indianapolis Colts
McCown, Josh Oakland Raiders
McNabb, Donovan Philadelphia Eagles
McNair, Steve Baltimore Ravens
Palmer, Carson Cincinnati Bengals
Pennington, Chad New York Jets
Quinn, Brady Cleveland Browns
Rivers, Philip San Diego Chargers
Roethlisberger, Ben Pittsburgh Steelers
Romo, Tony Dallas Cowboys
Schaub, Matt Houston Texans
Simms, Chris Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Smith, Alex San Francisco 49ers
Young, Vince Tennessee Titans
Again, not alot of thought or research so I am sure a few of you will find some that I missed or think someone else falls into the catagory of comfortable, however, a quick count came to 13 vets starting.

Wow.
We missed you too.
;D
Byron Leftwich is in danger of his legs crumbling to dust every time he takes a step.
=Z=
This is his 5th year but he sat out one year.
As for Leftwich you will notice I left Garrard on the list as a potential starter.
Getting back to the point of my post.
There are alot of young QB's out there starting or having the potential to start in this league. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Good teams (such as the ones you highlighted) have stable veteran QBs in place.
Rising and rebuilding teams have younger QBs.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Vikings counting on Jackson's growth
Marrdro, that list kills me. You obviously have a different definition of "veteran QB" than the rest of us. You also seem to have your own private definition of "hater", which I guess to you means, anyone who presents a truth you don't agree with.
Roethlisberger has a Super Bowl ring !
Culpepper had the 5th best NFL season as a QB ever !
Carson Palmer ?!
:
By the way, why does the system censor me when I write "damn", but you get to write "DOUCHE" ?
Just wondering.

Re: Vikings counting on Jackson's growth
What, exactly, should be the friendly version of 'douche'? As it stands, most kids wouldn't know the meaning of the word (as, I suspect, wouldn't a number of adults here). No need to disguise a word that few know the meaning of. It could be an interesting thread topic. What word would you use to disguise the word 'douche'? I might suggest 'bird bath'.

CATbath might be more appropriate...LOL
And in regards to Marrdro's list...
I think the word "comfortable" is being misconstrued a bit...especially when the likes of McNabb and Favre are included.
McRehabb is still questionable/doubtful for the season opener, and the reports out of Green Bay (along with a fair share of national press) aren't exactly shining with optimism.

What exactly would holcolmb or aaron friggin brooks give us that t-jack can't?
do you even know what schools they come from?
its not like there resumes are filled with great accomplishments, which would explain why they are on the bottom of depth charts or not even on a roster.
you wanna sign a vet for insurance?
fine.
but to think one of those guys is gonna make us a better team just cuz you heard of them is ridiculous.
t-jack can make all the throws, extend plays with his legs, and if he can prove to be careful with the football, somthing your veteran qb b.johnson could not do, he'll be serviceable until he can become the big time.
we're almost halfway through the preseason, this dream you have of us signing a vet to save us from the miseries of tavaris is not happening.
he's our guy, and how bout you give him a chance before you replace him with the likes of aaron brooks or other 2nd rate qbs who have played more but proved they are not dependable starting qbs
LET THAT WHICH DOES NOT MATTER, TRULY SLIDE

Re-read the post my friend.
It is about who is are the young QB's out there leading teams.
As for my criteria I put it in there so that people who color outside the lines could understand that point.
Evidently it got lost on you so I will put it in here again........
Now this might be hard for you but were does Big Ben/Carson fall into those two catagories.missed it so I did a bit of research (not much mind you) and listed who I think is or will start at the QB position for each team.

Heck if you took the time I even amplified that for Z in a later post.

gol 'darnit man.
You are, by my criteria, the definition of a hater.
a.
Look for nothing but the negative in everything.
b.
Never have anything good to say.
c.
Say the same negative thing over and over.
If you don't what I am saying go into the advance search button and search for your posts related to the following topics
Williamson
Childress
Offense
It might suprise you to see what you have posted my friend.
Lighten up a bit.
This is football site were discussions are held and opinions are valued.
Yours, however, is getting a bit old at least in my book. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I was just using thier word.......
I sure the hell wouldn't be comfortable with Favreeeee or McNabb making it through the year (McNabb) or not throwing a bazillion INT's (Favreee).
