Vikings could return to London in 2014 and 2015 | ProFootballTalk

According to Neil Reynolds of NFLUK.com, Vikings V.P. of public affairs and stadium development Lester Bagleydidnít rule out the possibility. Bagley, per Reynolds, said that the Vikings want to see how the 2013 game against the Steelers goes at Wembley Stadium.

So do the Falcons and niners need to lose multiple home games just because they are getting a new stadium too?

and pay for the use of TCF just to leave it vacant on those game days.

From what I've read in a few articles is the Vikings are paying the university $300,000 per game played there but haven't seen anything that states they'd guarantee 8 home games

They spent the last ten years convincing the public that the Vikings are important to the local economy, then as soon as they get what they want they say screw the local economy. In none of the revenue estimations did they figure 7 game seasons. The old bait and switch.

Consider this and thhink about it. Goodell is talking about there being a third game in London going forward which means pressure will start coming on those teams who haven't yet opted/offered to give up a home game and play here.
At present the Vikes/Steelers game has really caught the European NFL fanbase as it has two teams that are good as opposed to recent years where we've had one good team/one team that sucks up until now. So that will mean the screws going onto more of the so called 'bigger' teams to give up a home game and come to London.
Whilst the new stadium is going up and the team is at the TCF then this is the ideal time for Zygi to offer up a home game. After 3 years then it will then be less likely that pressure will then be put on the team having moved into the new stadium.
On the other hand perhaps you'd prefer that we give up games having moved into the new stadium?? Now that would be the REAL slap in the face to the local economy and government.

I would prefer we kept all games at home and forget about Europe and be done with it. It will not work to have a team in Europe and there is no future there.

agree that it would be better that all the home games stayed where they should be. However the reality is different at present and the owners want to take games to Europe. So best Zygi does what is best for the team long term and that is giving up the games now instead of in the future.

Reality is the NFL is looking to try to expand and find new revenue streams because they know that unless they do the well is going to run dry but at the same time they are crapping where they drink.
