Vikings coach a touchy-feely kind of guy? Ya, ya!

Vikings coach Brad Childress has read "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." He offers players daily affirmations, some extracted from favorite tomes, some culled from his family.

The former psychology major plies his players with inspirational quotes, even drawings that correspond to his philosophies. The day after the most embarrassing loss of his tenure -- 34-0 at Green Bay, a game in which some players laughed on the sideline -- Childress responded with aphorisms and an Oprah-like book recommendation -- "Get Off Your Assets!" by motivational speaker Desi Williamson.

Which confirms that Childress, as we suspected, is a different guy and suggests he's a different guy in a different way than we suspected....

Whatever works, man.
If it translates to them winning and making it to the Playoffs, I wouldn't care if Childress brought out a ukelele and did his own rendition of "Tiptoe Through The Tulips".

LOL, guess he beats Deepak Chopra as a coach. He didn't loose the team, and that says an aweful lot. And now we are winning, lol. As long as it works...insert Goethe quote here...

I hope CCthebest picks him up some night at the bar when he's dressed in drag.

A long time ago I said the Vikings needed to talk to Dr. Phil, and then I said Coach Childress also needed to talk to him. Maybe I was wrong. Anyway, this article is just more evidence that Coach Childress has the leadership intangibles he needs as head coach to lead a team to a championship. The team seems motivated now, and that counts for a lot.

BTW--the "Ya-Ya" business was a small part of the article. The rest is a lot more interesting anyway. I'd rather have a guy comfortable in his manhood enough to occasionally/rarely read a chick book than to have one so insecure he never dared read the back cover of one.

I didn't know he was a psychology major... It shows though, he often even fucks with my mind.

Hey I have no problem admitting its a good book.
It isn't a chicks book persay, they are characters.
The real message behind it, is to respect your family.
They are with you for the long haul, an you need to support each other to be successful.

I'm guessing that is why he picked it.
