I understand your point. But if ramsey county cant help pay for it then what can ya do? I personally liked the idea of Shakopee over Arden Hills and I prefer Arden Hills over the Minneapolis but I prefer Minneapolis over L.A.

Now that it seems Minneapolis is going to be the spot then perhaps Ziggy will buy up the Strib buildings and make it more fan friendly. I guess we will wait and see. Its just to bad they wont take a real good look at Shakopee.

But there is the rub. Ramsey county could pay for it just as well as Minneapolis. The problem is that MPLS has interfered with any other plan that has come forward. If Ramsey were allowed by the state to play by the same rules and use the same funding as MPLS they could pay for it.

Where the problem for me is the state held Ramsey to a different standard that they are holding MPLS to and in the end the MPLS site is not going to generate the revenue that either Shakopee or Arden Hills could have and what that will lead to is the team coming back to the state in the first decade whining that they aren't making enough money and the state will once again have a facility like the dome that is operating in the red but with a 1 billion dollar price tag rather than 50 million and only one team to draw revenue from rather than 3. Sure, keeping the team is great but if they do another half assed plan like they did the last time then what the hell do we gain but maybe 5 years of silence from the Vikings before they are back with their hands out looking for something different? And the state still has the arden hills site they will have to pay to clean up with no other decent plan for the site.

Just by buying up and flattening the Strib without building there will vastly improve the quality of life for Minnesotan sports fans.

Are the Vikings planning on giving the stadium their own name or are they having some corporation name? Also if a corporation is coming in shouldn't they have to foot part of the bill?

From what I see from an aerial view, the only viable option for a larger stadium is to use the existing site plus the player, personnel & VIP parking lot. But then where would they park?

The 3 lots at the top of the pic are on the opposite side of the light rail tracks that the dome is on.

Where are the Star Tribune buildings in relation to this picture?

They will sell naming rights to the stadium. The last I remember reading the Vikings would get the revenue from the naming rights.

The lot at the 12:00 position I believe is privately owned. The small lot to the left of that contains 1 of the Trib buildings & is also Purple Tailgate lot #1 where PP.O tailgates. Below that lot is the light rail stop.
