I think we need a WR more than a QB. I don't know if Rice is still learning and can't get open, but we need to get him the ball more often. He is our most talented wide reciever. We also need to stop chucking the ball deep to Troy. I'd rather we throw those to Rice or Wade who have safer hands.

Nice article,it focuses the Vikes situation from a pessimist but real point of view, all the opp know that we can´t pass the ball and
    can´t defend
    the aerial game.

In the pass rush we always arrived 1 sec later to the Qb and opp teams blow us with mid range passes,I expect a
great load of that vs Mcnabb,I think the deep pass protection has improved a little. ....It is not a cornerBack problem Griffin is making less mistakes and Windfield and Sharper both are great players ,IMO is very hard to keep the cover of everysingle player for about 7-9 secs, the time which takes us to hurry the opp Qb.

    Our Passing offense is horrendous
,last game at Dallas TJ completed 6-19,that % is awful, mainly cause if you only pass the ball 19 times in a game ,it is supossed that 19 situations are clear for a fair catch,we are not a team which takes riskes on his passplays, besides I think I can remember 2 or 3 of that 6
passes were thrown to our RB that leads us to about 4 catches from our Receivers in thw whole game....

I will stop here cause I am starting to feel bad

    We are not that close.
We need a coach and a QB.
I would just be happy to find a QB first.

We should have traded up for Brady Quinn.
We will get Derek Anderson next year in free agency...when the Browns are forced to start Quinn...and we will be better off than them when Quinn flops...and Anderson shines!
I believe Anderson is a restricted free agent next year...and the cost to get him would be a 1st and a 3rd round pick.
That is too steep of a price if you ask me.
You are correct sir that Anderson is restricted.
The cost is not yet determined, but it all depends on the tender that Cleveland gives him.
The scuttlebutt I've read is that it will be a 1st and a 3rd as you say, same as what the Falcons got for Schaub.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Vikings close ... but oh so far

The Vikings this year and last year lost games by a few plays a game.
Most of the time we were in it till the very end.
That is encouraging and discouraging at the same time.
Its encouraging to know that we are good enough to stay close no matter who we are playing but discouraging that we are unable to put teams away or beat the teams that we should beat.
The Vikings are a good team,
what is holding them back ?
Some may say it is the coaching, some will say it is the lack of talent at key positions, some of us would even probably like to blame it on the owner for not taking care of the first two.
I tend to believe that Jackson is going to be good, but was started too early and they are expecting too much from him right now.
I think that maybe we could let Holcomb start next game or two but if they result in losses than you have to put T-jack back in and let him finish the season and grow as a quarterback.
I would like to see T-jack play the rest of the games this season and learn from mistakes and hopefully be looking like the quarterback Childress thinks he can be before the season ends.
I think the coaching staff could help him by not making things hard on him.
Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor need to see feild and touch the ball more often.
Adrian Peterson needs to get the ball atleast 60% and Chester 40% of the RB touches.
We should be able to run the ball on every team we play, no matter who we are playing or what style of defense they are running.
Jackson is far from playing perfect but his recievers need to catch the catchable balls. >
If that happens we may be 4-2 this year rather than 2-4.

I have much more input on this subject but not as much time to do it.
I will try to put the rest of my 2 cents in later.
Four score and seven years ago, Brad Childress has brought upon this team, a west coast offense, conceived in San Francisco, and Dedicated to be a Kick jiggly butt offence. We are now engaged in an NFL season, testing weather that offense can get going or that our defense can long endure.

Personally, I don't think there is intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"
