Vikings - Catching a break

Catching a break

With Michael Vick out of pocket, the Vikings' defense will get the chance to beat up on a familiar punching bag, Joey Harrington, in their regular-season opener.

The Vikings aren't ready to make any bold predictions now that they know they will play against journeyman quarterback Joey Harrington instead of Michael Vick in their Sept. 9 regular-season opener against the Atlanta Falcons....

Catching a break
??? Every team who plays the Falcons this year will be catching a break. Not just the Vikings.

The only advantage the Vikings, Bears & Packers have over the rest of them is they got to play against him twice a year when he was with the Lions.

We're gonna make Atlanta sorry they traded Schaub, when we wreck Joey's confidense completely.
They aren't going to beat us with the run, and this plays right into our hands.... JH 1 and 8 lifetime vrs Vikings.

I agree, nice read.

A bit of insight into the mind of the Chiller.
;D

"He has got a system he believes in," Childress said of the Falcons and coach Bobby Petrino. "Am I foolish enough to think that maybe they didn't have some different plays for Mike Vick? Yeah, but I'm sure they have some things that play to Joey's strengths as well. It's a system, and so you don't completely change a whole system around one guy."
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Agreed, can't take any game lightly and the Falcons will be looking to show the league that they were not just all about Vick. If we play to our strengths then we should win but lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

I agree. There was little pressure on him and he stood back there in the pocket and played well.

I think that will change this year. But I don't take him lightly. Even he can play well if he has protection.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.

Joey Harrington beat us up last year? Joey Harrington?
The same Joey Harrington that went 26 for 42 with one interception, one fumble, and only one TD?
Is that what you call beating us up?

Miami's D/Our O beat us up last year.
We had back to back series in which the Miami D got a turn over and ran it back for a TD in the fourth quarter.
Joey Harrington had nothing to do with that.
