MANKATO -- The Minnesota Vikings’ training camp has a new title sponsor.
Alltel Wireless, America’s Largest Wireless Network, will officially announce their sponsorship on Thursday, June 28 in Blakeslee Stadium in Mankato, Minn......

Re: Vikings Camp Gets a New Sponsor
Didn't Alltel lose the naming rights to the Jacksonville stadium?
Maybe they are fishing around for a new stadium to slap their name on again...

Re: Vikings Camp Gets a New Sponsor
It isn't exactly a new sponsor being brought on board. Alltel bought
Mankato based cell phone company Midwest Wireless earlier this year. Midwest Wireless has sponsored the Vikings for a number of years and my guess is Alltel is just assuming the existing agreements the Vikings had with Midwest Wireless.
A few months back Alltel was then sold to another company out of Texas, I believe so it may go through yet another name change before it is all said and done.
The Midwest Wireless HQ in Mankato along with the civic center both still had the Midwest Wireless name on them as of 4:30 this afternoon when I drove by which makes me think they are delaying ordering new names and logo's until all of the acquisition crap is worked out.

Problem is I won't be able to come up and see any of it so it was like a big tease
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I just read that they are indeed assuming the naming rights to the Civic Center in Mankato,Mn.
The Midwest Wireless Civic Center will now be named the Alltel Center.

Now if only the nine buck that I have in my wallent was enough to buy naming rights.Zeus wrote:
