Re: Vikings Bye-Week Grades: Defense
I don't get how the linebackers and secondary both get a B grade. It's pretty obvious that one is playing better than the other. At the very least, either the linebackers are a B+/A- or the secondary is a B-/C+ (thanks in large part to the weakest link. You know who you are).

I think I'd go B+ LB and B- Secondary, but that's just me.

Re: Vikings Bye-Week Grades: Defense
I had read this article earlier and totally agree with it. The defense has been the best surprise this season. Tomlin had done a truly GREAT job.
I diagree with the "Special Team" ratings. I would give them a D-. And even though it's not listed in the article, our offense overall get a D in my estimation.Kentucky Vikes Fan

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

I disagree with the grades. Secondary should be c-
Luckily Sharper and Winfield can tackle.
Coaching, with just Tomlin should be b+
Special teams D-
Coverage stinks...our returns stink, and Kluwe Stinks

Re: Vikings Bye-Week Grades: Defense
Maybe that injury Kluwe had last year affected his play (or maybe he took it to easy in the off-season and/or lost his touch, who knows)
WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

In AP I trust

Re: Vikings Bye-Week Grades: Defense
Actually, Kluwe is 4th best in the NFC in punts inside the 40 and that one 9 punt because of the wind in Buffalo is hurting his average more than anything.
He is comming off an injury and adjusting to a new style with a bad special teams coach to help him a long the way.
Kluwe is the man he's just had a bad week and a bad punt. When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

To say Kluwe stinks after the year he had in '05 and all the factors working against him this year is stupid.
Did you see the 50-yard-side-roll-out-inside-the-one punt he had against Detorit?
The guy is awesome and everyone has a few down weeks so before you go off talking about how someone stinks maybe you make sure your rational for it doesn't stink.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!
