MANKATO, Minn. — For four years, the Minnesota Vikings have searched for a receiver to be that go-to guy they've been missing since the one-of-a-kind Randy Moss roamed their field.

It certaily seems that he has been dropping enough passes to fit right in. :P

It's not about the dropped passes..
It's about receptions/yards/TDs.

And Berrian had almost 4 times more receptions and yards as Troy, and 4 more TDs.

After watching the practice, I wasn't overly impressed by him. Hopefully that was just a situational thing. When they were doing the WR drills, he didn't look that good. Allison looked better.

That's interesting.
Although, if those WR drills are any sort of indication of how things pan out in the regular season, I'd be more than happy to have Allison play better than Berrian, considering how well his stats are (especially with Grossman as his QB).

Yeah, there hasn't been a receiver with his type of talent since '98.

There has never been a receiver as talented as Moss.

Call me a crotch-sniffer, as I have been many times before, but even the biggest Moss haters have to concede the fact that he is the most talented wide receiver, one of the most talented players at any position, and one of the greatest pure athletes to ever walk this Earth. No one has his skillset; the size, speed, explosiveness, body control, and coordination are all virtually unmatched by any receiver. If he were great at just one of those things, he'd be an awesome receiver, but the fact that he is/was the better in all of those ways than everyone else at his position at some point in his career makes him the most talented there has ever been. If he had the work ethic of Jerry Rice, it wouldn't even be close who the G.O.A.T. is.

EDIT: /Moss crotch-sniffing off. Back to Berrian, the author never should have said that Berrian could replace Moss, it's his fault not mine.

Bernard Berrian is the Vikings' boldest attempt yet at reversing that post-Moss trend.

Doesn't look like the author said anything like Berrian replacing Moss.

Finding a true replacement for a talented player like Moss is unrealistic, but the Vikings have so far been unsuccessful even developing a receiver fast enough, reliable enough and feared enough to earn that distinction as the quarterback's top target.
