Vikings begin intial contract extension talks with Phil Loadholt
Pelissero: With $8M under cap, Vikings talk deal with Phil Loadholt | 1500 ESPN Twin Cities ? Minnesota Sports News & Opinion (Twins, Vikings, Wolves, Wild, Gophers)
I'm not sure how well Loadholt has played so far this year but I'd rather not have to go into looking to fill a hole there either.Minnesota Vikings : Simply the best

I think they also need to concentrate on signing Harvin to an extension before he hits his final contract year next year.

I agree that Harvin should be the focal point, loadholt is replaceable so hopefully he signs for cheap,

I like it.
But I will say, I really do think having a good QB makes a mediocre lineman look much better.
With Favre, our line looked great. They weren't, they were actually quite bad, but they looked good alot of the time because Favre was looking great. in '10 when he started sucking, it was obvious our line sucked. Last season with DNabb and rookie Ponder, they looked straight up awful. Now, with Ponder making good quick decisions, moving around and getting comfortable, they're looking much better.
Like Fuad said, I don't want RT to have to become a need to fill next season, but I don't see Phil as one of our core critical guys like I see Harvin, Rudolph, AP, Greenway, Kalil, Smith and *gulp* Sully (Don't let Marty hear that)

Load seems to miss so many key blocks at the worst time, (3rd and 5). He is an average tackle and I am fine with resigning him as long as he isn't paid like more than he is. Can we trade up for a WR or DT please? Do not resign Devin A. and draft some damn WRs. Has anyone seen our other 4th rounder?
