    Vikings: Battle for No. 2 QB may not be over

    From KFFL;

    Vikings | Battle for No. 2 QB may not be over
    Fri, 7 Jul 2006 19:39:35 -0700

    Kevin Seifert, writing for the Sporting News, reports the battle for the Minnesota Vikings No. 2 quarterback spot may not be a done deal. QB Mike McMahon isn't a lock to back up starting QB Brad Johnson. QB J.T. O'Sullivan has experience in the West Coast offense and could challenge the error-prone McMahon.

    Personally I hope that J.T. O'Sullivan wins the battle for the No 2, but I do have this fear that McMahon just might win because of,
    A) McMahon played for Coach Childress last year.
    B) O’Sullivan was on the Viking squad last year under Tice.

    As far as Vikings fans are concerned isn't this a lose-lose situation?

    I fear that you are right on that but as far as I know right now there is not a more viable option for us right now and out of the two who are battling for the No 2 QB I would prefer O’Sullivan over McMahon. Just the thought of having a Lions reject on the team :shock:

    I would rather have the Lions reject than the Packers reject (O'Sullivan).
    :wink:

    Another non-story created by the media, I'm sure. The coaching staff probably just said something about everything being wide open and encouraging competition at all positions, blah, blah, blah...

    The media picks it up and creates a backup QB "controversy" in MN. I think we all realize that the job is McMahon's to lose. I still think we should have picked up Joey Harrington, instead of McMahon.
    I am a dipshit!!!

    I didn't think O'Sullivan was that good...at least not as good as McMahon! I don't care who the back up is as long as we don't have to use him! :grin:

    I don't like either one as a back up, like jdvike said I hope all they do is play with their headsets and don't get a hernia holding the clipboard.
