Re: Vikings bar in Des Moines
I have been wondering this as well...
I live in des moines and can tell you that Rock Bottom does not seem like a good place to watch football.
It is set up more like a restaurant with a bar in it.
Great food and beer! but I cant imagine it would be a great place for a vikings game.
I can definately see the other 2 places as good sports bars to watch the vikings in.
ultra did you just do a search for Vikings bars in Des Moines or what?

You might be better off driving 3.5 hrs north and taking the game in live.

prophet I did that 4 times last year and trust me it is a lot better. But between the price of tickets, gas, and food th cost adds up very quickly.
Not to mention it turns into a an ordeal where you leave at 7 am and dont get back until after 9 (if you stop for food).

Felix and Oscar's has some awesome pizza pies.
If I remember right, they are Chicago style.
It has been about 6 years ago when I was there last.

Damon's also has the games on and have 3 big screen TVs.
It is in the hotel on the corner of University and I-35.
I wouldn't call any of these bars Viking Bars.
But like I said it has been some time since I lived in DM.
If you want a small non commercial bar to watch the game in, go to The Varsity on Douglass in Urbandale.
I think you are going to have to do your own homework on which ones have the most Viking fans in them.
