I always enjoy ESPN's Ultimate Standings because we don't often see direct comparisons among the 122 professional sports franchises in the four major leagues.
If you haven't read the Ultimate Standings before, they simply rank all 122 teams based on ownership, coaching, players, stadium experience, etc....

That number just doesn't sit well with me, and doesn't sound right.
We are still one of the older football teams in the NFL, and if you asked me to pick out the top 15 teams in each Pro sport, for their recognishonability, I'de definetly say the Vikings would make the to[ 15 in that list for Football teams.
Do that with all for and if we sat dead last, we would be 60th.
I think they are still hitting us a little hard for the dome itself.
Sure, the dome is small and rather crowded with not much to offer on the inside,
but the outside crowd has always been a blast to be around, and the dome itself has
a warm and fuzzy ora about it.
Maybe it's alot to do with the fact that I don't get out there hardly. The couple times I have been there, My eyes tear up and I just love my friends and the stadium for what it is, not to mention watching the Vikings take the fiield, and just getting overwhelmed with a strong feeling of pride when they do.
I would like to see Wilf and the State get a deal done on a New Stadium, I know they have it in them, and I bet it will be a doooooozey of a stadium, if and when it gets done.

If you sort by sport, the Vikings ranked 23rd out of the 32 teams.
You also need to take note at what they used for ranking criteria;
Quote:
Bang For The Buck (BNG): Wins during the past three years (regular season plus postseason) per revenues directly from fans, adjusted for league schedules.
Fan Relations (FRL): Openness and consideration toward fans by players, coaches and management.
Ownership (OWN): Honesty and loyalty to core players and local community.
Affordability (AFF): Price of tickets, parking and concessions.
Stadium Experience (STX): Quality of arena and game-day promotions as well as friendliness of environment.
Players (PLA): Effort on the field and likability off it.
Coaching (CCH): Strength of on-field leadership.
Title Track (TTR): Championships already won or expected in the lifetime of current fans.

On a somewhat unrelated note..
I'm not surprised to see where the Vikes and TimberPuppies are on that list..
But to see the Twins ahead of the Wild kinda shocked me.
But, after reading their respective pages, I can see how that happened.
I can't wait to see how high the Twins jump once they throw that first pitch at Target Field.
Re: Vikings 89th in ESPN's Ultimate Standings
IF/Once the vikes get a new stadium they will fly up the charts.
Re: Vikings 89th in ESPN's Ultimate Standings
Steelers #3 I can deal with that! and they got the vikings only 5 ahead of The Pirates! I see where some are upset with that.
Re: Vikings 89th in ESPN's Ultimate Standings
Nice to see a hockey team at #2. The hurricanes tickets are so cheap, and that building is so loud. They had tailgaters for their playoff games this year. How cool is that?
And lol at the teams at the bottom. What a bunch of joke franchises.
As for the Vikings, seems pretty accurate. At least we are up from last year's ranking.
