I believe that seems to be the way it is shaking out for us as well. I think that Blake Bortles is probably on there though ... not sure where on the list, but probably on there.

I also find it highly unlikely we actually take Robinson, Evans or Watkins considering the number of teams behind us that would covet the chance to come and get them. I would love to see a trade back to somewhere like 12 and have Aaron Donald fall in our lap. That would be huge.

I'm convinced that we're not going to take a QB first round. I like that list, but I just don't see us drafting Manziel or Bridgewater that early. Knowing how bad our defense has been these past couple of years and the fact that we have a defensive-minded coach.... I'm guessing our board probably looks more like this:

    1. DE Jadeveon Clowney

    2. LB Khalil Mack

    3. CB Justin Gilbert

    4. DT Aaron Donald

    5. WR Sammy Watkins

    6. LB Anthony Barr

    7. WR Mike Evans

    8. CB Bradley Roby

    9. OL Greg Robinson

Look for us to draft Messinberger or Garoppolo in the second round... hell, Bridgewater may even fall to round 2.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

You do realize that there are some coaches will pick the opposite of their expertise knowing they can get more out of the players from the previous regime. Which would mean we would draft some offensive players in the first three rounds. Not that it will happen, I am just saying some coaches are arrogant that way.

    That's common actually.

Personally, I think the vikings will pick the player they believe best improves the team regardless of whether they are offense or defense.

None of the coaches we have now are "spring chickens", and as such, I am hoping that by now, they know what they can and cannot do with the talent that is NFL proven (or not). So if they go offense, it means (in my eyes) Zimmer sees the team we have coupled with what will be there in the later rounds is good enough for our team. I don't see arrogance, I guess, is what I mean.

Unless Mack or Clowney are there at 8, I really REALLY hope we either go Manziel or trade back... the "trading back" is my point. I know many of you are not sold on Manziel, so ignore that part (if you prefer) and hope with me that we get 2-3 more top 3 rounds talent from this draft in that situation!

I will say this, if we don't draft a QB we should trade back, there is so much talent in the first round. We will still get a great player and the draft is stacked at least three rounds deep.

Vikings' 2014 'Big Board' Round 1

Tha vikings should trade back and use that 1st pick on LB
    2. CB
    2. SS
    3. D-line
    3. RB
    4. QB (Tajh Boyd)
    5. OG
    6. CB
    7. D-line
Tha first two picks should go towards fixing this defense and i think Boyd would be a good pick late in tha draft and he will have Turner coaching him
