1989 was the measuring stick for our defense in terms of sacks. The team had a total of 71 sacks and the following were some of the individual efforts:

    Doleman- 21
    millard- 18
    Noga- 11.5
    Thomas-9
(That equals 59.5 for the d-line)

    Merriweather-3.5
    Studwell-1
    Berry-3
    Clarke-2.5
    Browner-1
    Strauthers-1

that was a defense built on extreme pressure. The thing that held the team back was the offense and Burnsies WCO style. I hope to got history doesn't repeat itself ;D
Holy shit! That would be sweet to beat that but I don't see it happening.
What is the most sacks ever by a defensive line for any team?

I think that might be it. Before that, the '85 Bears had the record in the recorded era if I am not mistaken. I don't recall anybody having more than that and since the league tied the hands of the defenses increasingly through the 90's and until recently it would be much harder to put up those numbers.

39 is close enough for me lol
I dont think pat will get 6. but i do think our D-line could be in the 35-40 range.

2008 (hopefully) could be even better than 1993.

How will the sack attack of the 2008 DL compare to, IMO, the last great DL of the Vikes, 1993:

    Doleman
    12.5
    Randle

    12.5
    Henry

    9.0
    Barker

    6.0

    Total:
40 sacks from the DL starters alone

Which is better than 25 whole team totals last year.... I didn't bother to look up the total for the starters... too lazy
    How about 1989?

    Doleman:
    21
    Millard:
    18
    Noga:
    12
    Thomas:
    9

    Do better research please.

He's going to have to really, actually try for the record breaker. Favre is gone.

    Ultra,
I didn't say "the Greatest", I said the "last great"... No DL since '93 compare.
If you can find one then please question my research.

I think Ultra has pent-up aggression from the Army, he likes to take it out on people on PPO.

Better than my pent-up aggression from lack of sex though.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

So do you take that aggression out on yourself... alone... with a magazine?
