A Viking Nosetackle Plan
Since PFF has been grading, Williams has never graded negatively over a season for his run defense, and though his production has dropped as he has aged, that is less of an issue on the nose than it will be in his current spot.
A move to NT for Williams would help disguise his lost step, allow quicker DTs on the roster to play in their natural position, and fill the void that Minnesota hasnít been able to patch since Pat Williams retired all in one act.
Author contends that KW is best suited to play nose on our current roster and the rest are all better suited as 3 technique guys. Evans is his second pick.
Makes a lot of sense to me. Guion would free up around $2M in cap room if we cut him. I think the mixture of Williams/Evans/Floyd/Ballard/Griffen will be more effective than what we had last year.
He can be Marty's new Warpig.
