McKinnie is expected to start. Cowart's status is uncertain.
Also a nice little snippet about our new punter, Chris Kluwe

They got Cowart because EJ was not doing a good job of putting players in the right positions and calling the correct defense schemes. Ej was playing so will and DT was not so they moved him to get him on the field more.
Since EJ has moved he has been playing much better, but I am concerned about having Rod Davis as Cowart back-up and if Sam can not go this week then Davis will be starting. Davis did not have a good game last week, hopefully he will be better this Sunday. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Viking Injury Report:
yah i really hope Cowart plays this week. E.J has been playing some really good ball since he got changed to WLB so i don't have a problem with that. i don't know much about Davis, other than he was doing the coverage on that TD to Alex Smith.

Thanks Josdin

Vikings | Cowart Day-to-Day
Mon, 12 Sep 2005 19:31:27 -0700
Minnesota Vikings LB Sam Cowart (calf) is day-to-day and expected to start Week 2. LB Rod Davis would start if Cowart can't play.
~~KFFL~~
Hopefully he does start....we need him in there...

Re: Viking Injury Report:
Can we ever have a middle LB go half a season without getting injured?

Re: Viking Injury Report:
I have to get one of those shirts that say "your team hasn't got a Kluwe" or "at least our team has a Kluwe".
On second thought, maybe not.
It's pretty sad when your favorite player is the punter.

Re: Viking Injury Report:
I think EJ was playing good ball last year, his coverages were bad, but he was a beast at flying to the ball. I think he would do fine on the inside this year. I thought the Sam Cowart deal was more of a Cottrell fan club signing then a need, EJ and DT were coming along.
I wouldn't cry if we saw both of those guys on the field this year at the same time. Sounds like Cowart will be fine though and he deserves to be there. He is proven and I think if he can stay in there it would be best for our team. I wouldn't be surprised to see his stay here in Minnesota a short one though.

Re: Viking Injury Report:
why arent we moving harris to ILB, and starting newman on the strongside?
People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.
