Viking adopt new blackout policy
Vikings decide to adopt new blackout policy | ProFootballTalk
Good move on the part of the Vikings. Considering they just got their new stadium, it would have been a horrible PR move if they didn't adopt this.
The Vikings have not gone for the minimum of 85 percent like those other teams, though. They have set their blackout threshold at 90 percent, reducing the burden of seats they need to sell by about 6,000 this season.
The funny part is during the Senate negotiations, a clause was added to the bill that says that all home games would be televised regardless of ticket sales. It was taken out later because the Vikings didn't have control of the blackout policy. But it makes me wonder if some of the players involved knew this was on the horizon.
