Vikes win the toss - what decision?

So - if the Saints win the toss, I think it's a no-brainer, they want the ball.

But - if the Vikings win the toss - do we want the ball or do we want to start on D?

Easiest thing to say is you never know what is best. I think i would take the ball first. I think the Vikings have to score first today. Would me make a lot more relaxed...

Part of me says that. But the crowd will be most into it at that point - and at their loudest.

The other part of me says I want the defense out there first. They're pumped and the crowd will be quiet. Best way to keep them quiet would be to stuff that first series.

I agree with you Z. A 3 and out would silence that building. From there we can pound the rock and keep their offense off the field, further silencing the crowd.

The crowd is going to be FRANTIC at the beginning. So I say defer to the second half. TRUST in the Vikes D to get a sack, force a punt or if we are REALLY lucky a turnover, that should quiet the crowd a little.

Even if the Saints score the crowd will still have been screaming for awhile and hopefully some have sat down by the kickoff.

Regardless it's going to be silent count until the Vikes are up by 20pts.

I would defer. Trust the D to get us the ball. A 3 and out would be big.

Start on D and hit the asshole Brees in the jaw. Might as well fight fire with fire. We know damn well they don't care about hurting Favre.

Defer. 3-and-out con sack to shutup the crowd and rattle the Saints a bit. Even if we don't score on our first possession, we'll get the ball after half with less crowd noise.
