Vikes are way ahead of last year at this point IMO.....

The first teams on both sides of the ball looked solid.
The O line can use some work, but all O lines need work right now.
BJ looks like he will take what the D gives him and if he keeps making good decisions, the chains will move.
D looks much tougher than last year.
Be happy Vike fans b/c the future is much brighter than one year ago at this same time.

At this point I have to agree with you... I thought they looked better in this year's pre-season debut than last.
The offense looked better last year during preseason, but look how that turned out.
    The D looked pretty good.
I got the sense that this is a much more controlled and better ran team.
Special teams was pretty rocky though.

Last year we were watching Daunte complete pass after pass after pass and watching his quarterback rating rise up into the 100's. We were also waiting for the defense to "jell" and we all thought it was just a matter of time until we were Super Bowl contenders! I think we were more hopeful last year than we are this year.

Most people last year were saying Super Bowl, this year we're saying MAYBE we'll win the division title.

I definetely liked what i saw in the 1st game for the most part. I would have liked our o-line to do better but they should improve after a few games. Defense looked great imo, especially our pass rush with our 1st team defense in.

I remember last years preseason our D got crushed by priest holmes in the first game something like 4 carries for 60 yards and daunte didnt throw a touchdown after the first preaseason game. This year we had 5 sacks on d ans 3 takeaways and the offense had i believe a 56 yards drive for a touchdown so im happy =)

Brad Johnson seemed to pick up where he left off last year, which is a really good sign, but then again, remember who the opponent was...no need to make too much out of this first game either way.

I'm not so sure it is the O-Line that needs work, as much as it is Chester Taylor needs to work on his moves.. If I can recall, BJ wasn't sacked, or even close to being sacked.. I could be wrong, but I don't remember that.

The defense is playing much faster now.. They were all over the field, and that showed with the Raiders not being able to move the ball on them.. I can't wait to see all of the starters playing for the whole game..

its preseason you cant get too high on the team or too low.
I was impressed by jackson but I wouldnt put him at starter any time soon.
I hope this team can start out better, but just like last year, there are many tuff teams out the gate so its a wait and see approach by me.

I like what I saw from T. Jackson, that was really the only reason I came to the game. I lied, I wanted to see the MVC.. :-* But overall, we looked good. The Special teams play looked great, other than that fumble to start the game. Brad worked that new offense really well. And the Defense was sharp. We looked good out there.

    How did the MVC look?
That's the important stuff for this off-season!!
Did we lose any of the rookies to an ACL tear?
You know, if Rachel goes down with a bad case of the hair frizzies, the whole season will be lost!

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
