Re: VIKES vs COWBOYS OFFICIAL POSTGAME DISCUSSION

Great win today. As many who posted before me have mentioned it was not pretty but nonetheless we got the job done.

-Offensive Line needs to get Brett more time in the pocket. He is almost literally getting killed out there! Hopefully Sullivan recovers soon because this protection isn't going to win us the NFC North (or keep Brett Favre healthy).

-Great game defensively for the most part. Great open field tackles today. Would have liked to have seen a sack but what can you do.

-What's the deal with Randy Moss today? Only 4 receptions? I'd like to see (until Rice comes back) him and Berrian on the opposite sides and have at least one run a deep route to try and get the ball down field a little more. Found the passing game to be a little on the conservative side IMO. Huck the ball down field to our fast guys and let one of 'em come down with it!

-What can I say about special teams that hasn't already been said? Good return by Harvin to get our home crowd back in the game! Liked Chris Kluwe's deep punts to keep them pinned down on their end of the field.

It wasn't a pretty win by any means but nonetheless 2-3 looks MUCH BETTER than 1-4 (ha, ha Cowgirls)! NEED the O-Line to protect our quarterback. Let's keep this momentum going into Green Bay to play the on-tilt Packers!

    Skol!

I am very happy with this win.

I know the total offense numbers are not great ... but I thought we were pretty efficient on offense and we lost one possession to Oh Mercy taking it to the house!

Favre was efficient despite getting flat out abused the entire game. I thought the receivers played well and Randy stayed in the game despite not being able to get his deep ball.

Adrian ran well and patient despite the line getting pushed back a lot.

As for defense ... VERY happy. The short field hurt us ... and the long game-tying drive sucked, but all in all pretty solid. We need Cook back.

I thought that Edwards and Allen were much better today. Though Allen does not show up much on the stat sheet this week ... he DEFINITELY was making more plays and he was also drew a decent amount of second blockers whether it was Witten, a guard or the running back.

I good win that could have been prettier ... but good momentum going into Green Bay.

This was certainly one of those, "one team just sucked less" kind of games. The Cow[strike]girls[/strike]shit truly are horrible. Everyone's super bowl favs would be 0-5 if it weren't for the Texans no show. How many swing and screen passes can you call in 1 game? And here I thought the Vikings were predictable.

I know we won, but come on, the slow flat starts are getting ridiculous. Why don't we ever look up or ready for a big game? The Bears and Packers lost, we're playing the Cowboys at home, and we come out like we were eliminated. We coulda killed them today, like we did in the playoffs, and set a tone for the rest of the season.

Chiller has a lack of personality, imagination, inspiration, and killer instinct, coincidentally all the things that our team is missing.

Not sure why people are saying "not a pretty win". I think too many pay attention to the records and not the performance. The Cowboys have the 2nd best offense in the league with the 2nd best passing ranking. They also have the 7th best defense. We held them to 220 passing yards!

Hey Marrdro, did you see that perfectly thrown pass to Moss that he dropped? I thought I would mention that since you always pick out every little thing Favre does wrong.

Marr will break down the entire Offensive and Defensive set on that play.

Plus...he will also tell what was going through Randy's, Brett's, and the guy in Section 301, Row 10, Seat 8's mind as well.

In addition, he will tell you what the Viking's were thinking on that play as well as Dallas Defense was thinking.

He will tell us all this wonderful stuff, and then throw out what the Noodle should've done.

Not an impressive win, but a win nevertheless.

Kind of feel like we beat up the tarded kid. God they can shoot themselves in the foot. They say everything is bigger in Texas & that must include mistakes.

Thank God for Harvin's return or we would have been walking out of that game losers.

Thank God for great field position. The only two offensive TD drives we had were 15 yards long & 49 yards long.

Even when given great field position at our oppenents 30 YL, the best we could come away with was a FG, but it was enough for the win.

Defense played a lot better, getting a couple of turnovers that proved much needed for us to win the game.

Favre improved his game(14-19) but 118 yards passing isn't going to win you many ball games even though it was enough this time. Again thank God for field posiitions that provided our only offensive scores starting on Dallas' 16, 30 & 49 YL's.

More happy that Favre didn't have a bunch of turnovers. I can't fault him for the fumble on the exchange to AD.

Not overly happy with AD's 3 yard average. Especially when Harvin was averaging 9 yards per carry.

Still no pass protection for Favre. I recall after 15 pass attempts they said he was sacked 3 times, knocked down 7 times & hit on 11 of them. Don't know what the final total was.

I'm probably going to have to blame special teams for the lack of pass protection, since Marrdro and a few others are adamant that there's nothing wrong with our OL.

There is something wrong with the O-Line. Now sometimes it did seem Brett held onto the ball a little too long.

But other times the Defense was all pressure right from the snap.

Glad to see we limited the false starts...which really pisses me off.

I heard that same shit in the beginning of last year and we made it to the NFC Championship game.

Still not understanding why people are saying "not an impressive win". Dallas is not as bad as their record says.

You forgot that he would also tell us which cat (Chilly or Bev's) sent in that play, whether or not Favre audibled a different play & whether or not the center pulled on the play.
