Vikes officially re-sign K-Rob
Vikings | Robinson Re-signs
Mon, 12 Sep 2005 13:44:02 -0700
Sean Jensen, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings WR Koren Robinson was re-signed Sept. 12 after being released Saturday, Sept. 10 to avoid paying Robinson a guaranteed 2005 base salary of $540,000.
The Vikings are saying that his status for Sunday is "uncertain" I think we need him out there as a deep threat for Culpepper.

So could someone else have picked him up, like the packers who are now going to be hurting since Javon Walker is out all year.

I told you guys K. Rob will not sign with any other teams eventhough he can be a starter in green bay. Tice was the only coach to call him when he was in rehab and he wants to show the league what he can do. You can't do that with old man farve throwing the ball at you.

It didn't have anything to do with robinson signing with another team. He was on waivers, meaning if GB claimed him, they got him for the contract we signed him for.
I don't get it though, because i thought I read that he wouldn't actually clear waivers until after tonight's game?
Oh well. I'm glad the GB didn't screw us and steal him. We really need his explosiveness in our receiving corp.

If that is the case, maybe the ageant released this info to see if someone would up the anty by tonight. Tipping the hat to someone like GB. I am just speculating, don't get bent out of shape, anyone know the signing rule?????I don't get it though, because i thought I read that he wouldn't actually clear waivers until after tonight's game?
Besides that rehabbing Pain killer guy might be a good role model for K-Rob.

Yeah, since he was on waivers it was pretty obvious that noone else would pick him up.
I am not sure how all of this works, but it all has to do with cap money and guaruntted salaries and he was gonna be a Vike all along, that is why it was under the radar.

Since Koren is a 4 year vet, his contract is guaranteed for the whole season, if he is on a roster for week 1. If he is signed week 2 however, his contract isn't guaranteed and he can be cut at anytime. This is why we did what we did. We weren't about to guarantee him a contract, when he still has to go to court and could possibly get some jail time and miss some games(which is doubtful IMO).
I am just confused as to when he came off waivers. I thought he actually couldn't until this weeks games are done, meaning after the MNF game.
