Vikes moving up in the power rankings
Slow but steady... at least we are in the top ten now.

10. Minnesota (2-0; 11):
The Vikings will find out just how much of a contender for the NFC North title they really are when they face the Bears.

I'm more curious as to what we'll be ranked after the Bears game.

[shadow=red, left]Bloody, I don't think the Vikings will drop dramatically if they lose to the Bears. In all honesty, I don't think too many ppl are expecting the Vikings to do much against the possible nfc superbowl representatives.[/shadow]

Re: Vikes moving up in the power rankings
Actually. bono has a point.
(Did I just agree with a packer fan?) If the bears win, that is the expected outcome.
It wouldn't affect the vikings standing either way...
But if (when) then Vikings win, it should drop the bears a couple of notches while raising the Vikings.
The road to the NFC north still goes through Chicago for now.
But after a Vikings win this Sunday, there may be a few more "experts" changing their tune.Zeus wrote:

Just you bono, just you. We have to beat the Bears at home or we won't have much of a chance at winning the NFC north, unless the Bears D fall's apart later in the year which isn't likely.[shadow=red, left]Bloody, I don't think the Vikings will drop dramatically if they lose to the Bears. Re: Vikes moving up in the power rankings
Undisputed,
I'm not joking around here. Honestly, I don't think too many folks, outside of the Purple Priders (heck, my dad's a purple prider...yuck!), are really expecting the vikings to be 3-0 after their meeting with the Bears. Have you witnessed that defense of the Bears? Awesome! outstanding! The greatest the NFL has catered to in a long time, IMO! I was suprised the Lions got 7 points out of 'em on Sunday. And that once horrible excuse of an offense for the bears, is actually starting look all right (all thanks to the motivation given them by their defense). I predict a close game until late in the 3rd, and then the claws will come out. All of a sudden: fumble after fumble by B. Johnson and his boys in purple...int. here, int. there, as a result of purple boys breaking down...then a sack here, a sack there, a sack in the middle, a sack down yunder, as a result of the never slowing down bears' defensive pressure. If I'm the vikings' coach, I say we hit 'em hard, and we hit 'em early. I'm talking about no-huddles right from the start...deep throwns on just about every play...never letting the Bears' defense gather themselves.BonoSugaRay IS Betamethasone Dunkin

Re: Vikes moving up in the power rankings
The weakness for the Bears on D is the speed of their secondary. Sure they are good, but we can pull them back with some deep plays. Chester has to get into a groove & keep the secondary moving forward, then Blam! Hit em' with a long ball.

He has never done that in his career....anywhere.
He doesn't fumble and he doesn't throw int's.

Except that one to Ken Lucas on sunday, but I'll let that slide.
