EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)

Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress has hired the son of Indianapolis Colts president and general manager Bill Polian to be his assistant.

Dennis Polian will be the new assistant to the head coach. He most recently worked in the front office for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.

If this guy has half the smarts of his father, he'll be running the FO in a few years.

I always listen to Polian on NFLN, I expect that his son is in the same mold.

...For the record the Tigercats are a joke, a 3 win season for Hamilton is a good one.

As far as I understand he was with the team a very short time before being brought into the big leagues. I'm not concerned about that team not being very good, it can take some time to leave your stamp on a situation. 1 year as quality control and 1 year as Player Personal isn't a very long time, what is impressive is his ability to jump the ladders quickly.

Do your research people.

Polian replaces Kevin Stefanski, who was promoted to a quality control position as an offensive assistant. The Vikings also announced Thursday that they hired assistant special teams coach Chris White and special teams and player development assistant Jason Glenn

I like the Polian move.
Maybe, perhaps, please, could this be a move towards getting a real GM in?

Additionally, don't know to much about the two assistants, however, the addition of 2 ST's coaches can only be seen in a good light IMHO.

agreed, gotta love that zygi is willing to keep paying to bring in more minds to help our team.
It was only a few years ago that we had the smallest and lowest paid coaching staff in the league

it doesn't sound like it, he's not an "Assistant Head Coach", he's "Assistant to the Head Coach".
Not exactly the same grounds as a GM
