Vikes D-Line = Success

I'm excited about having three #1 draft picks on the D Line.

This will be the best Defensive line the Vikes have had since Millard / Doleman / Hardware Hank; going on twenty years.

Lots of newer Vikings fans have gotten used to the high powered offense but don't remember a stout defense. The Vikes have always been innovative offensively and fun to watch. But I miss the days when the defense was something to be feared.

We'll take a big step in that direction this year.

I've been thinking the same thing SKOL. This defense is gonna fly like we haven't seen in years. No more turn-style type tackling, lol.
BTW, hello from Duluth everybody, I've been reading the posts here for a few weeks and finally took the time to register. Very great forum, :thumbleft: and news from all sorts of sources. Bring on the season already, I'm as excited as a kid in a candy store.

agreed we are gonna suprise the whole leage with how well our defense does, not to mention our excelent offence. This year is going to be VERY exciting for the vikings franchise!

If Winfield, BKU, Thomas & Scott are as good as advertised, this team
has the chance to be a top 10, and possibly top 5, if Cottrell gets them
working as a COMPLETE unit EARLY.

Top 10 top 5? I'd even be happy with a top 15...it hasn't been pretty watching the Vikings so called defense, but it looks like that may change this year. :thumbleft:

It's a little early to say precisely how good the DL will be. But every time the local news shows a clip from training camp it's the DL getting to the QB, which has been a rare sight in recent years. I hope the KC scrimmage has good press coverage on this. I'd love to get an early view on where we're at at this point.

I don't think this means a whole lot, but so far in training camp, nick rogers leads the D with 10 sacks. I wonder when he is gonna get playing time? We have johnstone to play LDE on passing downs and don't think we should take Udeze out on passing downs either. When is he gonna get to pass rush? Personally I would rather have him in than johnstone(no disrespect to lance). It doesn't sound like there is gonna be much playing time for nick and I wish there was because I think he could be a great situational pass rusher.
