Re: This video is awesome
I have to clarify a bit... I was longing for a outdoor vikings stadium. Not just to be outdoor in an open stadium anywhere. That myth, the chanting of Odin, coming out with shortsleeves... That's just cruel to the other teams hahaha.
And is it only me who thinks the old football players looked more beefier than todays footballplayers?
And I think the new dome, (if there ever gonna be one) is going to be a a dome with a retractable roof. An open stadium would be limited in other events during the winter making it a loss of revenue. There is a whole section on the new stadium at the vikings.com site if you want to check it out.

Tarkenton at 6'0", 200 lbs is considered tiny for a QB by todays standards.
However, they may look more jacked, since there was no steroid testing back then, and many teams (championship steelers) admitted to juicing.

I really hope our new stadium is without a roof.
I can see us bringing the Odin chant back.
A team tradition that fires everyone up.

Retractable roof would probably be the way to go eh? As great as it is to have an outdoor stadium, having been to a few snowbowls in the CFL, the opening dome gives you the option. Considering how late in the year the NFL schedule goes, I think those 1970s Vikings players and fans were a bit nuts! ;D

Yeah ... they were not even that big ... a lot of offensive lines were in the area of 250-260."Dekay" wrote:

They just wore tighter clothing and less padding for the most part.
