V4L's Quarter Season Grades
QBs- F
When your QBs can only produce 2 touchdown passes in 4 games that's very pathetic.. And a higher turnover margin then TD is uncalled for in the league
RBs- A-
Chester doesn't get much time but he is good for blocking and spotting AP.. AP is a freak and I feel bad he is feeling the wrath of the KAO system.. He is second in the league in rushing yards so obviously the run game is good
FBs- C-
Not really impressive.. Nothing has stood out so far to me except the fumble in the Titan game
WRs- C
Average group of WRs we have.. Wade is our best and I hope he gets used more.. Sidney some how needs to get the ball and we need to use his strengths.. Berrian is decent except for a few drops.. And Allison I have no complaints about
TEs- C+
Minus some crucial drops from Shank he has played well IMO.. Kleinny has a couple catches this year and has helped out Hicks alot.. And im expecting big things from Mills
OLine- B-
Hicks has impressed.. Hutch is doing his thing.. Birk is still pretty good.. Haven't heard much from Herrera and Cook and no news is good news.. From watching them they look decent and haven't had too much coming from the right side.. They main thing I want to see improve is the blitz pick up.. The grade might be a little high after the Titans game.. But collectively I think they have played pretty good in pass and run blocking
Dline- C+
Edwards has been out and besides a few QB pressures he hasn't done much.. Allen is playing pretty good but no where near what we expect him to.. Kevin is a beast in the middle and is playing well.. Haven't seen much from Pat except a few tackles.. I want to see him get in there more
LBs- B-
Leber hasn't done anything this year.. Greenway is pretty good and is a few tackles away from leading the whole NFL.. And EJ is a beast.. I think they can improve alot of pass coverage and getting to the outside on speedy RBs
CBs- C
Winfield is good.. Griff needs to do something.. And Gordan has been pretty good.. Overall an average bunch of CBs
Safetys- D
Sharper is now offically the most overhyped safety in the league.. People love Sharper but he hasn't done anything.. And Tyrell is a rookie so I don't expect much but they haven't helped much in pass coverage
K- B
Longwell has been pretty good.. Couple missed FGs only.. Including one that hit the bar.. Only knock I have is the lack of touchbacks.. Please find a way to fix this!! It's killing our team with the great field position we give up
P- A
Kluwe is a stud.. Never cared for punters but I hope he sticks around.. Good accuacy and amazing power
Coaching- F
I've seen some of the most boneheaded things ive ever seen.. I hate the game adjustments or lack of.. And game preperation.. I hate how we don't use our players to thier strengths and I hate how we get out muscled and out coached each game.. Classic examples include: using a timeout to decide if you want to challenge the play.. Seriously just throw it.. That time out could have been used to help us get in better position at the end of the half.. And the punt with 2 minutes left.. Show some heart Chilldress.. Let your boys finish the game.. I was tempted to bump this up to a D- because Frazier is a pretty solid coach but Bevell and Chilldress are just so bad.. And Ferrero needs to work on his unit as well
The offense as a whole is not very good.. It would help if we use Adrian outside and mixed up what we do
The defense isn't all that great either.. 2 interceptions in 4 games and one was a lucky ball that popped up in the air.. The only turnover in the Titans game was a botched fumble.. And 7 sacks through 4 games? I expected our line to have that.. Not just out whole team
The special teams blows.. Can't get a touchback and the coverage on that sucks.. Kluwe is the diamond in the rough there
It's only a quarter way through the season and we passed our hardest part of the schedule.. Lets go boys!

Re: V4L's Quarter Season Grades
Feel free to post your grades as well
I just whipped them up quick and tried my best to quickly put together grades for a whole season basis
I feel they are fairly close

Re: V4L's Quarter Season Grades
Coaching- F.
That's the only important one to me right now.
Fit the scheme to the players, not the players to the scheme.
I will give an example for Childress and Bevell if they read this.

Re: V4L's Quarter Season Grades
QBs- D-
Ineffective but turnovers haven't been as high as they could be.
Coaching has hampered QBS IMO
RBs- B
Too many negative plays today--not saying it was there fault, but I won't give an A for it either
FBs- C
Tahi is probably one of our leading receivers
WRs- D+
Too many drops.
Not enough big plays
TEs- C-
Too many drops.
Shank has made a few plays but the drops have to stop
OLine- C-
Too much pressure on QBs.
Got asskicked today against Tennessee
Dline- B-
Need more consistent pass rush.
Playing the run OKAY but not as dominantly as the past two seasons
LBs- B-
EJ is all over the place and I've seen Greenway around the football a ton.
CBs- C
Winfield would get a high grade but CGriff has been burned too much.
Safetys- C
Sharper has been quiet.
Hopefully Williams helps out when he comes back.
Coaching- Incomplete
I can't grade something that hasn't been done all year.
But if i gave it a grade it would be an F.

Re: V4L's Quarter Season Grades
QBs- D-
Frerotte has brought this grade up, with semi-almost respectable playing.
We've been used to such terrible play at the QB position, that some of us actually trick ourselves into beliving that Gus is playing at an acceptable level
RBs- A+
Peterson still averaging over 5, Chester's not getting a chance, coaches call, no knock against Chester
FBs- B-
Not flashy, but do alright i suppose.
Not too much to say here
WRs- C
Average group of WRs we have.. Wade is our best and I hope he gets used more.. Sidney some how needs to get the ball and we need to use his strengths.. Berrian is decent except for a few drops.. And Allison I have no complaints about
TEs- C
Do a decent job of blocking, can't catch worth crap (mostly Shank)
Mills is starting to get some looks, which I like to see.
WHY NO KLEINSASSER????
OLine- B
Hicks is hot and cold.
Today was a cold day, he handled Freeney pretty well.
Cook got blown up a couple of times today by Kearse.
Overall good run blocking, satisfactory pass blocking.
Can't wait for McKinney to get back
Dline- B-
On and off, again.
Allen is having more of an impact than some of you may belive.
Sacks aren't the only numbers that matter.
Pressures and knockdowns are important.
Good job of stopping the run, and applying an OK amount of pressure, still leave sroom for improvement
LBs- B+
Leber hasn't done much, but thats the story of his life.
He's a solid guy, who's not flashy, but can hold his own.
Greenway is turning into a great LB, could be a top LB in the league in a few years.
EJ is an animal.
Still could work on pass coverage
CBs- C
one word.
Griffin
Safetys- C
OK, considering that Johnson is a rookie, and still learning.
Can't wait for Madieu to get back.
Kicker- C
A few misses that Longwell should have made.
Needs more distance on kickoffs.
Punter- A+
Probably the brightest spot on our team
Fantastic job
Special teams coverage- D-
Terrible, just terrible
Coaching- no grade is acceptable for this, so I will use a math term for you
coaching skill --> -âËâ€*ž
I won't get too into this, as I could go on for ever.
All you need to do is look at the last special teams play we made.
A punt on 4th down with 2 minutes to go an no TO's, down by 14.
He essentially forfeited with 2 minutes left.
If randy moss got heat for walking off with 2 seconds and no chance at a win, he should get blasted.

Pretty good
Just think the RBs are top notch
And WRs are a little better then you rank them but I can see why you would feel this way
And I think Tahi has 13 yards lol.. So nah not close to leading

Wade is a great slot guy, Berrian and Allison have speed, and Sidney Rice has great ball skills, but Sidney Rice has been hurt all year, Berrian and Allison have not been involved enough in the offense, and that rests mostly on the coaching. I think a big reason for the drops is that Berrian hasn't been involved with the game enough. (I'd like to see some quick passes to him and Allison, flanker screens, slants, etc, just to get the ball in their hands and get them in rhythm) I definitely could see them being one of the better units on our team if we had a competent coaching staff.

Re: V4L's Quarter Season Grades
Coaching is solid F.
Childress tried to convince everyone including himself that Jackson was ready to be the man.
He never had me fooled.
I made 4 trips to Mankato for camp and Jackson stunk in every practice I was at.
I questioned his play in camp on many previous posts on this site.
As a coach when you go into a season with the quarterbacks that Childress did you would have to consider yourself unprepared for the season.
