Re: Upon further review, Jackson needs a week off

I'll agree, he needs more experience, and if he's healthy, should probably be our starter.
BUT, the leash is shortening...a few more of those chuck it out there for anybody hucks, and somebody else needs to go in...if you can't get it to a receiver or out of bounds, take the sack, don't just give it away.
Our WRs are running routes, the enemy safeties are looking for it.

    Well said my friend.

His decision making can be fixed.
I'd love to see him have time in the pocket once.

Lets hope they fixed the OL for this week so he isn't running around and chucking it on the run.
    ;D

Re: Upon further review, Jackson needs a week off

I am still sitting at my desk waiting for Brad to call for my advice.
Well, just in case he lost the number....here is my opinion.
If Jackson is healthy, he should start.
KC SHOULD be a great opportunity to win a game.
Only game experience is going to move this kids progress forward.
How will sitting on the sideline watching a career backup win a game rebuild his confidence?

With Jackson as our QB, I can imagine a future being built.
With BB or KH I see no commitment to building a quality contending team.
    They are fill-ins only....
If either of them become our starting QB in an effort to win 8 games instead of 6....I consider that a big step backwards.

I felt that our offensive game planning was horrible in the last game and was directly related to the poor play by our offense.
It seemed that our coaches are sooooooo determined to turn this kid into an instant 300+ yard per game QB.....that they abandoned the strength of our offense.
They need to run the ball left, center, and to the right, until their defense is bloodied!
The passing game WILL open up after a heavy dose of the run game.
This would take a tremendous amount of the burdain off of Jacksons shoulders.

If Brad truely believes that Jackson IS our QB for the future, then he needs to game plan in such a way that will limit opportunities for mistakes.
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Maybe we should try rolling him out some, put him in motion at the snap instead of when its already too late...I don't remember seeing much shotgun, perhaps that would give him a better chance at torching the blitz/pressure too?

    Definitely mis-planned that game.
I like the idea, but it didn't work.
They tried to attack Detroit's weakness with our weakness and it backfired.
They should be more open to mid-game adjustments...

Pretty difficult to find anything to disagree with on any of your posts. But I have seen the ' take the sack ' statement a few times by others this week as well.

I disagree with taking the sack. Always take the sack rather than forcing it or throwing it up for grabs. But throwing the ball away is a better option that shows good decision making. So I would rather say, learn to throw it away.
I don't want him to think taking a sack is ever a good thing.Although, admittedly, a sack is far better than an interception.
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Re: Upon further review, Jackson needs a week off

Like I said in a post on another thread, TJack should sit through the bye week.
This would give him a chance to fully recover and meanwhile the Oline will hopefully gel and learn to pass protect.
The only problem with this, if it is really a problem, is that Holcomb could be 2-0 going into the bye week.
If this happens and TJack starts week 6 and loses, everyone will be calling for Holcomb to come back in, and then no experience for our QB of the future.
    What a conundrum! :-

Re: Upon further review, Jackson needs a week off

Since QB is the problem with our offense I say we go without a QB.
Just line up our backs and snap the ball to one of them.
I am sure if we need to pass any of them will be able to throw it the 10 yrds the WC offense calls for.
They can't do any worse than our QB's have done.
I think this would solve a lot of our problems and cut down on a tremendous amount of silly posts on this board which is what concerns me more than anything.
    ;D

Its simple.. no QB=no QB problem.
