Re: Uniforms, not the styling but the functionality.

    I think you're right, TeamSoftware.
Now that you have pointed that out, I did notice alot of shoulder pad tucking, after a play.

    But gettin' on the new uni's now;
I think they're pretty cool, but still will take a little getting used to.

I've been saying that we should get Purple pants for our away games for a few years, now.
I knew that they'd set it off!
However, that stripe down the side is kinda goofy.

The black shoes are the bomb, though!
    That's throw-back shizzy, right there!!!!!!

I think the stripe on the side of the pants is a Viking horn -- a styalized version of the horns on the helmet.
I think so too. Looking at the photo below, I think the area around the shoulder is also horn-like. This photo gave me a newfound appreciation for the new uniforms, at least the away suits:

The dark pants with the white horn or whatever it is looks all right.
But the white pants with the little blue horn looks strange.
Why don't they just drop the horn on the white pants and put a gold stripe down the seam?
And also widen the color gold for contrast?

A lot of fans I've talked to on the Internet all agree the uniforms are great, except for the stripe, horn, whatever it is, on the side of the pants! It distracts from all the other good points of the rest of the uniform. For example: I didn't even notice the black shoes!

Just do away with that one stripe and they got it!

I hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it it , it does seem like they have had the pads popping out quite a bit.

I think the away uniforms are a big improvement over the old.
The home ones I like, but I didn't mind our old ones either.

I just bought my first vikings jersey this year the day of the unveiling.....Koren Robinson #81..... >

I didn't notice the pads popping out. I'm sure that if the team is concerned they will have the manufacturers to strengthen the collar.

On the other note I love the new uniforms.
I got A Greenway jersey For A present Probably Jinxed him.

That would be because the Vikings know that the sparkly purple mesh new material makes them look GAY!
I liked the old uniforms, can't stand the stupid new purple pants.
I am a season ticket holder and have to watch them prance around in those gay pants, but I love being a ticket holder, none the less.

Is it me, or do the new uniforms seem to have a week collar?

In the 2 pre-season games, it seems like the players are always trying to fix the collars of the uniforms that have been pulled over the shoulder pads. I did not remember noticing it this much in the past, and the other teams do not seem to have this problem as much as the Vikings do. I mean I have seen it happen, but the frequency this year seems more.

You are not the only one that has noticed, it seems that on every play somebodies shoulder pad is hanging out the top.

On a side note (I am not a fan of the new uni's) but I really liked the purple pants on the road.

I think we are stuck with them for either 3 years or 5 years, I can't remember off the top of my head but the league only allows teams to change their uni's every few years.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

I don't think that is true. The Patriots have made several small changes to their uniforms over the last three years, and several teams have been coming out with alternate jerseys left and right. I think a small change to the uniforms in the next two years is very possible. I mean what is so wrong with having a gold stripe all the way down?

I'm still going to buy an away Williamson when I get the chance.
