Underclassmen out! NE takes Dillon for round 2 pick

What does this do to the draft? I think the only real impact this has is that mike williams won't be in the top 10 and that's one more chance for one of the guys we want to be taken.

As far a Dillon goes. He's a whiner and overrated. I wouldn't call him an upgrade from Antwoine Smith

    Mike Williams for next year?

I just have a quick question, if anyone knows the answer please tell me:

Is it at all possible for some team to draft Mike Williams or Clarett, only to sign them some time next year, before next years draft? In other words to get their rights this draft and sign them when they are eligible to play next year, before they re-enter the draft. If so it would make sense to get someone like Mike Williams for a second day pick, even if you know he won't play this year.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

From what I've read recently, Williams is not eligible to be drafted. The reason that ploy worked with Drew Henson last year is that he met all of the qualifications to be eligible for the draft. I think that Juniors have to declare their intention to enter the draft, and that anyone else that meets the qualifications is eligible.

What I don't understand is Williams status. I was under the impression that since he has a year of prep school between High school and College, that he is three years removed from high school, and therefore should be eligible. I read some articles along those lines a few months ago, before the Clarett ruling came down, that said that Williams might be eligible despite the court case. Those articles went away when the Clarett ruling was announced, since that technicality was no longer necessary. Well, what happens now? Were those articles wrong, or can Williams still back into the draft?

I give a fuck about Clarett, but please dear NFL announce Mike Williams eligible for the draft!!!!
It would be great for our draft choice, even if we wouldn't draft Mike.

I totally agree, that is just one more team before us that might now draft someone we wanted instead of Williams. But I am glad that the cry baby Clarett can't enter the draft!

It was Fitzgerald who had a year of Prep school first.

From what ESPN says Williams is Screwed. He has signed numberous deals for endorsments including Nike and footbal cards. He would have to give all the money back to become eligible to play in college again.

Well, that would explain my confusion. Thanks.
