I wonder if he went to a shrink to get to this conclusion.

As a Vikings fan, there was nobody I liked to see fail more than Favre and the Packers.
But deep down, I knew the reason why: I was jealous.
In my years as a Vikings fan, I had seen isolated years of QB greatness (I am too young to remember Tarkenton), like Cunningham in '98 or Culpepper in '04.
But for the most part, watching Vikings QB play has been like reaching into a varietal pack of Sam Adams; you never know what you're going to get (and chances are, it would never be as delicious.
    Mmmm, Sam Adams varietal pack).
I honestly don't see us Viking fans getting long term love syndrome for the Silver Fox.
Hopefully it will be a mutual respect for the time he plays here in MN.
But when he is done with us, I will probably think of him as a Packer and that will nullify the love for Favre and make it more of a highly appreciated respect for the guy for showing us a great to ultimate season(s).

About the other article and the two controversial moves.........
Childress making the Favre decision is like a guy building a computer.
    Chilly had many components.
He had a choice of 2 Duo Cores (TJ & Sage) for his processor but he knew that his KAO would push the Duo Core to the limit.
Chilly knew that a Quad Core would be able to run the KAO smoothly.
Chilly knows he isn't afforded the time learn the nuances of an Apple (draft pick or FA stud-none left at the Apple store).

Harvin, that was something from Chilly's gut.
It was the same for AP.
With AP, we had a fall back in CT.
With pH, we still had BW, BB, and SR.
With BF, we would still be very functional with BW, BB and SR.
Without pH, we might be without the extra yardage on KR and maybe one return short.
We might be one win short also, 6-2.
Our starting position to counter other teams scores has been awesome because of his contribution to the Special Teams.

    "pH Factor," gotta love it!

And the Favre haters are still lurking in the shadows just waiting to pounce.......

My feeling is that they will be in those shadows for a while.
...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again. And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.

I was talking to my buddy Kadlec - a diehard Packers fan - after the Monday night Vikings-Packers game.
He said something to the effect of "it's ridiculous how much the announcers gush over Favre".
    Really?
I hadn't ever noticed that before...
    I love it!!!
It's amazing how perspective can quickly change ones observations and opinion.

Well...I for one am glad to be proven wrong.

I maintained they would never take pH, not because of his talent, but because of his mistake at the combine, and injury history.

I have never been so happy to be so wrong

I think that Chilly, in Aug, rewatched the Ind vs Hou game from last season when Sage single-handedly gave the Colts that victory.
He picked up the phone within seconds of watching it and called BF for one last chance.
I am watching it right now on the greatest 4th quarters on NFLN.
I don't know if I could stomach that loss if that was with the Vikings.
