Re:The Truth About The 2010 Vikings

I think we may have as good or better year than last year. If you look at our team I think we have improved over last year. And I will tell you why. The line should be much better. McKinnie will have something to prove and should be motivated, Hutch & Herrara had surgery and should be better; Degeare is a monster who played all four positions in college, he is very talented and should be a wash for losing Hicks. I think he may start if he can learn how to pass block (needs work on his footwork). His problem may be just that; he can play all those positions and Herrara can't. Go figure if your talented it hurts you. Loadholt should be a beast and another year hopefully means he is better at pass blocking.

We lost Chester but Gehrhart seems to doing well coming out of the backfield, remember he did come out of a pro style offense in Stanford. So he should be able to block and understand coverages. I also like the fact that we can give him the ball at the goal line. Very instinctive runner who finds the endzone. Very few fumbles in college, just saying an option besides AP.

Cook and Shepard are very DBs so the loss of Griffin is not that big. As a matter of fact we have improved this position because Winfield should 100% and Asher allen should be a better nickel. We have EJ back and that is a definite plus.

The only thing that would worry me is if we drop a few games early without el sid. Home field advantage is very important to a super bowl run. We need to be home to make sure that we go to Dallas.

I think the two teams that will be favrites in my mind to win the NFC are The Vikes & the Pukers (whoever wins the division has the inside track to the superbowl). I don't think the Cowgirls and Aints will be the best teams.

My sleeper team in the NFC...................49ers!! They are a physical bunch and solved alot of issues with the OL by drafting Davis & Iupati. They also have inproved on the back end of the D by drafting Mays. All tough physical guys, look out for them!!

There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

I'm high on the Vikes too.

The OL should be good, but I'm not sure McK can do anything about elite speed rushers, especially seeing Peppers twice this year. Load and Sully should have learned through experience, but 5th rounder like Degeare making any impact this year.

I have confidence that TG can run and catch, but I won't be sold on his pass blocking until I see it. My hope is his Stanford level intelligence will give him the ability to ID the blitzer. Something I fear AD can't do.

The Vikes pass D should be much improved and if it can make the top 10 teams will not know what to do.

I'm not sold Rice is as good as everyone seems to think or he will be as good when he gets back. Favre makes receivers look good, not just by being accurate but his leadership and confidence in them. Just wait. I think GC will be a key to slowing down blitzes by giving Favre a quick out that will move the chains. If GC can find the hole left by the LB's, Favre will find him.

Puckers hasn't shown it has a D yet this year and have struggle against the Browns and Hawks in the first qtr. Delhomme was 6 of 7 for 66yds. S Wallace 4 of 8 for 72 and 2TD's. Plain vanilla D's aside they looked weak. The team completely rides on Rodgers to score, cuz they've got nothing else (Grant 3rushes 6 yds).

Re:The Truth About The 2010 Vikings

    Meh..

I didn't have super excitement about last year's team. As excited as I was about seeing Favre in purple, I honestly didn't know what to expect from him.. Were we going to get the Favre that has tortured us for 16 years? Or were we going to get the Favre that chucks up lame ducks (Noodle)? Because of that and a few other smaller factors, I held the 'wait and see' banner for last year. It wasn't until well after that 49er game when I started buying in.

I think it'll be the same thing for this year. I don't have a great feeling.. but I don't have a bad feeling, either.

So here I am holding the 'wait and see' banner again. Vibrating with excitement about the upcoming NFL and NCAA football seasons.
Vegans are eating the rainforests. =(

You have to remember that Degeare was a very talented kid coming out of high school. Teams shyed away form him because he took a year off of football. Well, he lost his mother at the age of 19 I believe. I would be a head case too. He is very talented don't be fooled by where we drafted him.

Re:The Truth About The 2010 Vikings

I feel like this is going to be another very special season for us.

I personally think our defense is poised to rise even higher as our secondary should be improved (Samford is playing well and the new depth at CB is nice) and I think our LB corps is ready to be very dominant.

As for offense ... I think Rice going down hurts, but I think people are underestimating the value of a healthy Bernard Berrian. In the NFC Championship Game Favre showed he was comfy with BB downfield, in the flats, on slants ... everywhere basically.

We know that Harvin will be on the field more often than not and I think people are a little down on AD because of fumbles in particular.

I personally feel that this is going to be a MONSTER year for All Day. And I mean like 1,800 yards rushing and 18 TDs monster. I think he feels like he has something to prove and he will be out to do it.

I am looking forward to opening night in the dome. And I am definitely looking forward to the two Packers games so we can show that we are still the class of the North.

Boy! It seems like the media is doing a number on some of ya'll.

The dark cloud, bad omens, etc.

Favre is back, how he got here doesn't matter, unless you are a media source looking to make fun of what JA, SH, and RL did. What I see is a guy the team wants enough to go get him. He's coming to have fun and with a team poised for a championship you need a guy that can keep it light all season.

Sid is out... DOOM and GLOOM! What are the Vikes to do? Other teams have injuries and players make bad decisions too. It's over and the Vikes have made some good moves to mitigate the impact. Maybe some moves that will pay dividends and wouldn't have been made without Sid having surgery.

PH and migraines. If it wasn't for the throwing up and fainting it would only be a footnote. IMO, if he's going to have problems, it's best he has them now, so they can try and do something, without impacting real games. With luck they can get a handle on the cause and minimize the occurances all season.

    Adversity makes teams closer.

BTW, I can't wait for the Vikes to kick some Puker butt and shut up the media clowns that are glossy eyed over Rodger's #'s.

This is exactly what I was thinking, if Berrian can stay healthy he can have a great season. I can see Berrian almost doubling up his yardage from last season. Shanks numbers should go up too. Only thing I'm worried about really is the offensive line.. I'm still pretty optimistic about this season regardless of Sidney being out and worrying about the O-Line.
