I don't know, I think stoic acceptance of our past and the uncertainty of the present are integral parts of being Vikings fans.
There is an element of doubt inherently present in all our hopes.

All I know is that I learned many key life lessons from being a Vikings fan.
I learned not to count my chickens before they've hatched, and to accept that oftentimes, things don't go your way.
But I've also learned never to despair, that there's always hope.
I know for a fact that we'll win it all someday, and may the day be soon.

It made me smile.
I think a lot of Vikings fans have learned to go into each season cautious because we've been let down so many times.
If you don't let your expectations get too high, you won't be that disappointed if they let you down, especially given their history.
It's a defense mechanism.
This team has done a lot of emotional damage to us and we don't want to be let down again.
