Re: The true master of the Tampa 2
I hate to burst your bubble, but Ron Rivera, defensive coordinator of the Bears (3-0), also using the Tampa 2, has his defense only giving up 23 points after 3 games.

Re: The true master of the Tampa 2
well, IMO it was the first coach that had to defend against the first forward pass...so i guess that would be the great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of the tampa 2... ;D :
;D
peace...peace...

Re: The true master of the Tampa 2
Perhaps, but Rivera also enjoys the company of farm animals, so he is therefore disqualified. In addition, I don't think Rivera ever coached in Tampa, so his version is just a cheap knock off that happens to work better than the original.I hate to burst your bubble, but Ron Rivera, defensive coordinator of the Bears (3-0), also using the Tampa 2, has his defense only giving up 23 points after 3 games.

Re: The true master of the Tampa 2
Chicago defense has given up 0 points to the Packers, 7 points to the Lions, and 9 points to the Vikings (TD was off an INT) so that makes 16 points given up by the Bears defense.

All I can say is "personel."
In order to run it, you have to have players than can run it.

thats proving our point =\ while we all know the bears have an amazing defense, they have just faced the packers, lions, and vikings, 3 not so hot offenses.Chicago defense has given up 0 points to the Packers, 7 points to the Lions, and 9 points to the Vikings (TD was off an INT) so that makes 16 points given up by the Bears defense.
not taking anything away from them though =)
and chances are the vikings should have had at least one offensive TD =\ maybe better if robinson played and taylor didnt fumble, but hey, thats what if's, so ignore this last part
