Re: Troy Williamson
We're obviously gonna be using him to run a lot of deep routes, but I hope we run a lot of bubble screens to him also, because he is extremely good and dangerous when he runs them.

I really, really hope he's good, and I'm looking forward to seeing him play. But I still don't understand the pick. I guess that's why they're the professionals though!

This kid is so much faster than he looks and bubble screens or quick hitches ould be really dangerous with him when he gets a little bit of blocking.
He also can run routes a lot better and crisper than most people are giving him credit for. There is something to be said for the fact that he put up[ the numbers he did in the Carolina offense with NO QBs who could throw worth a damn.
He may not be a super stud right away, but all of us can expect big things from Troy Williamson.

I was as vocal as anybody on this site that we should have taken mike williams instead, but I do understand why we took williamson. Williams and williamson are different type of players, and the coaches(not me) wanted a speedster at WR, instead of the more possession type of receiver. And williamson, much like kevin williams a few years ago, was one of the fastest rising players in the draft and would have gone to washington at 9, if we didn't take him, so apparently we weren't the only team high on him.
I will not bash/doubt williamson though, because I wanted mike williams instead.

The reason most wanted Williams over Williamson is because Williams was the safe pick ... Williamson shot up everyone's charts and was rate the No. 2 receiver by at least half of the league, if not more ..."ltrey33" wrote:

I think I would feel more comfy will Williams because he was the safe pick, but I think that Williamson's upside is something to be explored.
