Tribute to Rob Brzezinski
Rob Brzezinski does more for the Vikings than many acknowledge.
He is the man, so, I decided to make a tribute to Brzezinski thread.
Many became more aware of his behind the scene dealings with the whole poison pill issue when the Vikings took Steve Hutchinson from the Seahawks the year after they led the league in rushing.
The Poison Pill contract was a thing of beauty that is still being discussed years later.
Here's a blurb from his bio, "In his current role, Brzezinski works closely with Head Coach Brad Childress and Vice President of Player Personnel Rick Spielman on all football-related strategic planning and roster decisions. Brzezinski is also responsible for management and strategic planning of the salary cap, negotiation of player contracts, football operations and administration, team operations, medical and training staff, equipment, video, and player development. He has also represented the Vikings at the League meetings."
I would say he is the best capologist in the league and a well-rounded person in the front office.
The Vikings are very fortunate to have him.
My hat is off to Mr. Brzezinski, good work.

Re: Tribute to Rob Brzezinski
Thanks for the well deserved thread Prophet.
Rob Brzezinski, is the rock , in our front office.
We have so many strong points as an organization and yet we seem to be missing just oh so few pieces to the puzzle, every year, to get us to the top.
Brzezinski and his master mind for the Cap, is one area of the team and it's functions, that I never seem to worry about.
I hope he pulls all stops out this year and finds those few key pieces to the puzzle this year.
Thanks for the links also, I espiecaly liked the second link and the poison pill story.

Rob is the CAPOLOGIST, and he is gol 'darnit good!
CAPOLOGIST (kap-ahl'-o-gist) n. One involved in the study and practice of a team's salary cap {our capologist would know how much money the Vikings have left}.300

Re: Tribute to Rob Brzezinski
Too bad he won't be needed if 2010 becomes an uncapped year.
At least not for managing the salary cap.

Re: Tribute to Rob Brzezinski
By far the most unsung hero in the Vikings Organization.
Only a few folks know how truly valuable he is.
