Four Minnesota Vikings charged with misdemeanors in connection with an alleged raucous boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka are scheduled to have trials this spring.

Daunte Culpepper and Moe Williams are scheduled for trial together on April 18 in Hennepin County District Court in Minneapolis. Fred Smoot's trial is set for May 2 and Bryant McKinnie's for May 22.

The players will need to report to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office five days before their trials to be booked and finger printed.

All four maintained their not-guilty pleas at a preliminary hearing today in the county's Minnetonka court office before Hennepin District Judge Susan Burke.

None of the players were in attendance, but were represented by their lawyers.

Earl Gray, attorney for Culpepper, said after the court appearance that his client and Williams decided to seek a combined trial to reduce the amount of publicity.

The four were charged in December with lewd or lascivious conduct, indecent conduct and disorderly conduct after crew members from Al & Alma's Supper Club and Charter Cruises told authorities the players engaged in sex acts aboard two chartered boats.

The criminal complaints allege Culpepper and Williams received lap dances, McKinnie performed and received oral sex and Smoot used a sex toy on two women at the same time.

The players face fines of $1,000 and 90 days in jail on each count, though prosecutor Steve Tallen of the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District said jail time is unlikely.

About 90 people were aboard the boats in October for an annual party rookies sometimes hold for veteran players.

Authorities detailed a lewd party involving as many as 30 Vikings players, basing the charges on accounts from the crew of two Al & Alma's charter boats.

The crew members, many of them young, were intimidated and offended by the behavior, investigators said. They were the ones who brought the matter to the attention of

Sounds to me like the boys are going to see a fine of $1,000 max. each out of this.

All these months spent by the public & press blowing it all out of proportion & this is what it boils down to.

I bet it cost the State of MN and the County prosecuting, more money than the fines will bring in...

    Now how stupid is that?......

Kind of like the time I recieved a bill for .17 cents....and the stamp to send it to me cost .28 cents......Real Rocket Scientist could have figured that one out.....

wow $1,000 fine big deal all these guys could pay $100,000 sad thing is that in this country fines only hurt the poorer people and all the rich people are un affected by fines. whatever happend to paying a fine based on how much money you make? $1,000 fine for a milionaire won't stop them from doing any of this again they need to raise the fine value imo.

Why is getting a lap dance on a cruise full of players a big deal, when if you were to get a lap dance with the same players at a strip joint it would be just fine? Grant you it was on a privately owned boat, but that does not mean it is illegal. The only problem here is that it was a bunch of Professional Athletes and these people wanted to get a little cash out of the deal. IMO, Culpepper and Moe Williams shouldn'teven have been charged.. Now Smoot and McKiney, they totally got there groove on. Does anyone know if Smoot or McKiney are married? If so they may be looking for a trade soon. lol

Unfortunately for Moe and C-Pep, it's illegal to touch them, and that's what they did.

True, but since the fact they are "role models" to say the least, they should have to be involved in more punishments other then fines.

I say make them do a boat load (no pun intended) of public service, or help our their community.

Maybe something along those lines that will not only help other people, but also deter other athletes from making the same mistake.
