    Helmut Travis Bond

The Vikings drafted a giant in round 7 and his name is Bond... Travis Bond. Nicknamed "Tree Top", Bond is a huge guard who once weighted 375 pounds (!) and his strong game (not surprisingly) is run blocking.

With two young versatile interior guards with good potential, the Vikings offensive line is looking like a very strong unit this year and for many upcoming seasons.

Vikings official homepage has a nice article on Travis Bond

This was a nice pick, I think he has the chance to be a special player for us for a very long time.

And it was 2 weeks later he discovered he had a dislodge wrist which was reported as "some discomfort" when lifting weights

The guy is large, but he does not have the skills of even a rookie NFL player.

He is very raw. Like a piece of wood raw. "Tree Top" is right.

Stic him next to Loadholt and Peterson might run for 3000 yards

You hear him say how much he had on the bar when he finally figured out it was wrong? 400lbs or something like that.

I agree. I like both of our pickups. One will probably be only a backup at C and maybe G, but this cat can play both G positions at some point this year and eventually could play RT, LT, LG, RG based on need.

    Hope they both work out.
