Pretty sure LT wasn't exactly a mediocre RB, but we did see his number of carries & his average drop under him after the first season there.

Obviously Rage is trying hard there to insinuate that AD is better than LT AND Emmitt Smith (he is in my opinion, but definitely not by alot with Emmitt and you could argue me out of it).

And of course LT's carries went down ... he just had a career year. I would expect Adrian to be used less ... but still often.

More to the point, I believe Rage was saying that Norv appreciates great RB's as he has shown in his past with the likes of LT and ES. Why would there be any motivation to get rid of AD from his part.

Which back was better is strictly a personal opinion and Rage wouldn't be alone in saying that AD may be the best of the lot.

Prior to Norv, LT averaged 342 carries/season.

    Under his 3 seasons with Norv those carries/season were 315, 292 & 223 respectively.

    Trade Peterson?

300 carries a season sounds about right.

All that says to me is that Norv was developing a more balanced attack on offense.

Exactly how I feel about the Peterson situation

The Vikings won't be able to bamboozle another team and that's fine. Adrian likely has at least a couple years of high production left, we're not paying a QB big money and won't any time too soon, Peterson can be cut any time after this season with not much consequence if his play drops dramatically.

There should be no hurry to trade him just for the sake of getting "something" for him.

well on the emitt thing he ran behind the best damn o line in the league for years ..put A D ON THAT TEAM AND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE GREATEST EVER .
AS FAR AS TRADING A D .I DONT THINK WE WOULD GET A LOT OF OFFERS THAT WE LIKE ...NO ONE WILL GIVE US A NUMBER 1 PICK MAYBE A 2ND AND ANOTHER ...THESE PLAYERS OR PRICING THEM SELEVES OUT OF THE GAME GRANTED THEY WANT TO MAKE WHAT THEY CAN ...NFL LIFE IS SHORT....

Pretty sure Norv was there when LT was drafted, actually from the stories I've heard Norv wasn't that high on Michael Vick so the bolts passed on Vick made a trade and used their in favor of LT, and then got Drew Brees
