We are only a QB and a couple of defensive players away from being a solid playoff team. Why would you trade a once in a lifetime RB away. We now have better coaches let's get this SB thing done.
More than a couple...and that O line needs a piece or two. Its a miracle AP got the yards he did this year. Here's the thing with QB...Luck and RG3 are not there. There will be growing pains and development time. MAYBE Bridgewater and Manziel could step in right away, but I don't care what Kiper says, Bridgewater ain't falling to #8. We'd have to give up multiple day 2 picks to move up...picks we need. Rolling with Cassel may be the best option if we're in "win now" mode, which we should be with Peterson.
I'm not saying trade him just to trade him. What I'm saying is this: He'll be 29 next season, and I'm not expecting more than two seasons before he starts to decline. I'm as big of an AP fan as there is, which is why I hate seeing his prime wasted. I don't expect anyone to give up enough anyhow (and take his contract) but I hope Spielman will hear offers. Not expecting Herschel Walker II, but I started the thread because I'm curious what everyone thinks it would take.
i'd be fine with trading him, i don't see it happening though. if somebody was willing to way over pay for him, why not ? he's getting older, he's getting a lot of miles on him and it's starting to take a toll. a top flight r.b. is not needed to win, you can get by with average, you can't really do that with quarterbacks. don't get me wrong, i love the guy, but for the right price everybody is for sale, except a franchise qb.
