Re: Top five Vikings of 2008

    My top five and why......

    1.
    Chad Greenway.

I know the trendy pick here is for either JA or AD as our number one but damn if this kid hasn't been all over the field this year.
Sacks, pass coverage, stopping the run. Leads the team in tackles, 5 sacks is a huge number considering his role in the scheme.

IMHO he has really stepped to the plate since EJ went down.

    2.
    AD

Sure the fumbles have taken away from what is another stellar year for who is arguably the face of the team.
He leads or has lead the league almost all year in rushing.
Can single handedly change a game and next to JA, is probably the only guy on this team that the opposing Coord game plans against.

    3.
    JA

Started slow but has really come on.
Everyone elses numbers on the defense has come up and he is almost at the same sack totaly he had last year even after playing most of the year dinged.
If AD is the face of this team on offense, the JA is the guy on defense.
He has truly brought a bit of NASTY to this team.

    4.
    Shanc

I know, not as many catches as one would like to see but he is up there in TD receptions and yards with some very nice catches this year, all the while doubling as a TE/T as he helps out our shitty ass pass blocking OL.
Then throw in the fact that we don't have the greatest of QB's throwing the ball his way and you gotta love what the guy has done this year.

    PS.
    Honorable mention to BB here.
If that cat would have been healthy from the git go and we had a QB who could get it to him (that one from Gus really was because the other team thought the throw was going to Shanc) then his numbers would be alot higher.

    5. Klieny/Tahi

Gotta give these boys some love as well.
Truly the unsugn hero's of this team.
Always ready to go even after they pound on some of the guys that are much bigger than they are as they help the OL protect our QB in the passing game and assist that same line open wholes for AD and CT.

I can't speak for everyone on here, however, he has been a "Mild" suprise this year.
Still think he is nothing more than a career backup but am sure glad we have him since Gordon went down.

For the life of me I can't figure out why McCauley isn't getting more reps than him though seeings as how he stepped up to the plate when Whinny went down last year.

Gotta be something going on there that I missed.

I would put Winfield on that list instead of Shiancoe.
Shiancoe has been nice, but Winfield has been a huge part in limiting receivers like Andre Johnson, Anquan boldin, Roddy White etc. to fairly pedestrian days.

We actually had Cedric on all of those guys for 90 percent of the games
Admittedly I wasn't watching every play, I just remember big plays like stripping the ball from Boldin.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.
