Thread: Top 5 Reasons We are 0-2 (and how to fix it)

My top 5 reasons we are winless so far, in order of how important they have been:

1. Bad offensive playcalling
2. Tarvaris
3. McKinney being out
4. Not being able to get AP in space
5. The matchups

The main reason we have not won a game is because we have not executed our passes on 3rd down. That goes back to Bevell and his playcalling (too many off-tackle runs and rollouts by the QB), and the fact that Tarvaris can't read a defense.

I think with our tackles back (!!) and a new QB who can convert more often than 15 % on 3rd down, AND if we don't call boneheaded plays (off-tackle into the stacked box), we can turn this around.

Being at home this week will help.

Exactly.. most of the problems can be traced back to a stubborn or bad call by chilly.


defense isn't really a problem.
they shut out the colts for 2 and a half quarters.
A little more pressure by Edwards would be nice.
I'd like to maybe see Robison in there at LDE sometimes (don't want to hear that he doesn't weigh enough... )

Also want to throw in that it would help to have our offseason pickup, Williams, at safety. That would give us some insurance back there with him and Sharper.

For some reason threads like this "tickle" me. We should all be NFL coaches, it seems. What I really like is the discussion about not running so much on third down when the week before we were all saying "don't pass on third down, our running game is working better."
