I remember a discussion going on about this guy awhile back; people discussing if we would want him on our team because of what he did. Well here's an article about him done by ESPN, and it's a long but good read. I hope someone gives him a chance, if not the Vikings. With all the problems we have, we might as well give him a look. Bring him in for the last week of practice and the 4th preseason game. Enjoy

Its a sad story, to be sure. But let's be real. No NFL team is going to give him a chance. He is political kryptonite.

I have to disagree with you on that. Look at Michael Vick and Ben Roethlisberger, sure there are still a few people talking about what they did, but most people have moved on and the players are playing now or after a suspension.

I think the real story with this kid would be, and especially if he's successful, is how he overcame so much adversity to succeed in this league. Hell, they'd probably make a shitty movie out of, although it couldn't be as bad as the blind side.

All I'm sayin is this kid fucked up, so what. Everyone does, and what he did shouldn't even be classified as rape, he shouldn't have been tried as an adult, and he shouldn't be labeled a sex offender. It's ridiculous. Obviously what he did was disgusting, but he's no danger to society and I guarantee he would work his ass off to help a team in any way he could, and that's all you can ask of someone. He would definitely work harder than our big POS LT.

I really hope he gets a chance one day. He was just a kid, she was just a kid ... and as gross as it sounds ... kids are really stupid sometimes.

That is a fantastically done piece. Funny how you have to dredge through ESPN.com or the magazine to find it but will never see it where a lot of eyes will see it. I mean ... have to save space for Tiger.

Read this on ESPN last night.

Really sad story, the kid really had a truly horrendous start to life, then he and his sister made a stupid mistake which lands him in prison.

I admire the kid's heart, belief and faith to keep going and keep dreaming that he will one day get the shot that he deserves.

Just out of curiousity, how many of you guys would like to see the Vikings give this guy a look, and how many are too appalled by what he did to even consider it? I'd definitely give him a look.

I think it's a shame that most people won't give this guy a pass. Especially after the league and its coaches let other guys off the hook for other twisted things every single day.

As someone else said, they were both kids. No one should have to go through what he has. And after a very disturbing past of sexual abuse that started at a very young age, it's no wonder that he and his sister struggled with moral clarity in this area.
