our defensive tackles are very good..BUT those outside guys are all backup quality, and udeze is basically a defensive tackle trying to play end with no ability to get to the QB at all..playing next to the williams wall, there is absolutely no excuse for any of our ends not to come up with 8+ sacks"Chazz" wrote:
Our defense line doesn't need additional players. We have the potential to have a very good defensive line. With Edwards andAmen, brother. Preach on!I have been saying for a very long time that we need to fix the OL and DL before we start to go out and look for QB's and WR's to replace what we have.
Udeze our ends can be very good. QB play is our biggest problem. Our D Line played very good in games they werent on the field forever. Simple math fellas....
3 and outs = More time on the feild for the defense
More time on the field for the defense = tired D- line
Tired D - Line = No Pass Rush
No pass rush = Terrible CB play
Terrible CB play = Lost Games
Fixing Bringing in D Ends = New,Improved, Tired D Ends

Re: tonight proves DE is viking most obvious need
People don't understand that the Giants have possible the Greatest DE of all time on their roster...
If we could just go out and sign one of those.....shoot's why stop there, sign he greatest QB, WR and Rbs as well. Strahan and Osi are rare players. It's like saying we should sign Peppers( off year i know) however, he comes around once in a lifetime.

We also need improved LB coverage. As we should all know that was a problem for a long time. Henderson isn't a great coverage LB and our system calls for that. Add to that fact that we rotate D-Ends and our sack # will be spread out over a lot of players. I agree that better DE play is huge but....We have a solid core of DE already. We have to give them time to Heal( james) and get experience(Robinson and Edwards)

Re: tonight proves DE is viking most obvious need
kevoncox where do you think they got umenyora and tuck?? great scouting..you cant expect us to get a strahan, but after drafting 2 DEs in the first round in the past 5 years, having one of them sit out completely useless, and the other be too slow and immobile for DE, is terrible
and as far as peppers goes, he may be available..either him or steve smith will be on their way out of carolinaPeople who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.

Osi = 2nd rounder ( see above)
You can't always project talent, if so Brady ould have been a # 1( I hate Brady)
However, it seems to be that the Draft camp is doing a solid job recently. How ever an additional DE in this camp will be crazy. Robinson wouldn't play and neither would edwards. Do we just waste their talants?

robison and edwards are change of pace backup type of guys, not everydown players..and yes, the giants scouting staff does receive credit for knowing the impact these guys would have"olson_10" wrote:

as for tom brady, ive looked this up numerous times before, go and look at his college numbers, and i promise, you will be absolutely floored at the fact this guy went so late..he shouldve been a 1st or 2nd rounder based on how good he was in college..any team that doesnt have a qb right now should be ashamed of themselves for not picking brady that yearPeople who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.

Re: tonight proves DE is viking most obvious need
I was very impressed with the giants DE play...i do agree it's our biggest need, and it showed tonight, having a strong pass rush, is a big part of the making of a championship team.

I have some man-love for the DE in the first.

Are you trying to say that minnesota should not attempt to upgrade just because you want the inferior players t oget playing time? if an additional DE is added and he is better that Robison and Edwards, he deserves more playing time, If they are better
they deserve it. Either way it enhances competition for the job and means a better overall product.
VikesFan787, Thanks for the awesome sig!
