Tommy Kramer sacked by Jack (maybe Jim) Youngblood...

Does anyone remember this? It took place around 1978 and was rather vicious. As I recall Kramer was knocked out and was convulsing on the field.

Ok I see the link in your post now I understand. I already found that though. I was hoping someone had some extra info about it. For my brother who is a big Viking fan.

They had 2 hits by running back Earl "the Pearl" Campbell but there should have been a 3rd! When Earl hit Jack Lambert (one of the meanest linebackers ever to play the game) of the Steel curtain defense head on right in the chest and flattened him out like a pancake.

If some of you are to young to remember Earl Campbell of the Houston Oilers he was one of the best running backs ever to play the game and punished defenders as much as they punished him.

I was looking at some old stats for Earl, his 1st 4 season in the league he averaged 1,614 yards rushing per year, he had almost 2000 yards one year and then his knees went, and they ran him into the ground.

Here is a run from his college days as a Texas Longhorn, watch what he does to the defender at the end of the play.

This one is from the Oiler's he was unstoppable.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th runs are unbelievable.

The LB he hits during the 3rd run is Jack Tatum who was one of the best and meanest LBers ever to play in the NFL.

Sorry, I didn't mean to steal the thread and make it about Earl Campbell but watching those videos I had to post them.

Funny, I didn't see Theisman's in the list..., maybe that's not considered "a hit"? Nor is Joey Browner's taking Gerald Willhite down from behind at the one-yard-line, causing multiple fractures and ending his career.
