    Steelers | Gailey to interview
    Thu, 11 Jan 2007 16:41:33 -0800

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Pittsburgh Steelers will interview Georgia Tech head coach Chan Gailey, a onetime Steelers' assistant coach, for their vacant head coaching position. He will be the fifth, and likely final, candidate to meet with the team.

adam schefter just said tomlin is one of three finalists for the steelers job.

he also said ron rivera is one of them, and since the bears are still in the playoffs, tomlin could be one of two finalists.

I really hope they go with Grimm. I have this weird feeling that we'll lose Tomlin though. That's just life as a vikes fan.. always getting crapped on by the rest of the NFL.

I am not sure if Tomlin is all that good.
I think he is a little overrated.

Yeah we stopped the run but people passed on us all day long.

He seemed to have a good gameplan but unwilling to make adjustments.

If he goes or if he stays I am fine either way.

I am not sure if he really makes the D click.

Well either way he's a good defensive coordinator. Maybe not a great coordinator or great head coaching cantidate but I would like to keep him here.

Still though, i feel confident that Childress will pick up a good coordinator if Tomlin is gone. Clearly he doesn't want to deal with the defensive side of the ball in-game and wants a defensive coach that does most of the work and does it well.

Hmmm, but you're behind Childress for another year because he was implementing a new system & changing things up.

That is what Tomlin has done also. Only Tomlin was more successful IMO.

If you don't expect Childress to get it done in 1 year, why do you expect that of Tomlin?

Childress was the HC and Tomlin was the DC.
The HC has a lot more headaches to deal with...don't believe me?

I can understand that. Especially when he controlled/assumed the OC position as well...
