Why did Toby call the Vikings 'they' instead of 'we' in his quote?

Until he gets in a few film sessions with the guys, gets on the field and makes a few hits, and most importantly, gets through some of the rookie hazing, I don't think he really considers himself part of the team.

In the end, I think a few of you are making way to much of nothing.

My response was more tongue in cheek than anything else. It just sounded weird that he worded it that way, that's all.
