Hi and thanks for allowing me to participate here at purple pride.

Bottom line.....Jim Marshall should be in the HOF WAYYYYY before these guys simply for his consecutive games streak not to mention he played at a very high level in doing so! Cal Ripken made it into the baseball HOF by being a very solid, good player but not spectactular.
Let me know if Cal could have played in every game for 18 yrs getting into a car wreck on every play!

Hall of Fame = Hall of visiblity
End of rant....Thanks for the time!

Mick Tinglehoff belongs in the HoF before Jim Marshall, IMHO.

    And welcome to the site.

hmmm That is a very debatable argument, Both are not only all time great Vikings but great NFL players. But I still have to give a slight nod to Marshall on this one.

You made it seem like he has been lurking here so much that he should have seen the other thread.

Comments like yours keep people from coming back.

Plus, for a person whi has had issues with posting...you are the last one to give advice.

Tinglehoff was All-NFL for six years running (64-70) and started 240 consecutive games as a center.
IMHO, that's more impressive than Marshall's streak as a DE.

If the case needs to be made to add a deserved Viking to the hall, I think Tinglehoff goes before Marshall.

However - I think what Vikings fans REALLY need to get after here is having the representative to the elector's committee from our region to change from Sid Hartman to ANYONE FREAKING ELSE!!!!!

Sid can barely wipe his own saggy-jiggly-buttski, let alone make a coherent argument.
That's the reason the Vikings aren't represented as they should be, also IMHO.

Looks like he said it here.

for someone who has been lurking should know that there is already a very long running post about the exact same thing. Welcome to the site but to make it easy for the mods and not start another thread that already exists and post in the correct forum.
    Kinda hidden, but there haha.

I can accept that argument. Plain and simple they BOTH deserve to be in, I would not be upset or dissapointed at all if Tinglehoff ever
gets another opportunity before Marshall, as long as they both get in. It will be well deserved for both.

And Yes Sid does need to be replaced. In alot of things. He is pretty much living off of his name. And one of those people that I am assuming some people will hope he dies before they actually have to fire him. Because he does have alot of local "big" connections.

Hey...hope I am doing this reply thing right.
I gotta agreee that Tinglehoff deserves to be in the HOF as well! Maybe more so than Marshall, but I do give alot of credit to that consecutive game streak. Every other sport that tracks that stuff has their leader in their HOF. If Cal Ripken didnt have the streak, did he actually have a career worthy of HOF stats? I dunno....not a great baseball stat fiend, but does he have the requisite career avg, 3,000 hits, 300 homers? I cant answer that, but I just believe that if he missed a few games here and there and didnt have the streak, his career might have ended 5 years sooner and wihtout fanfare.
I could be wrong, and no slight to Cal Ripken whatsoever, but Marshall;s accomplishment should rewarded in the same manner IMHO!

    Hey Big Daddy and gang

    Hey guys,
If that is what you all consider a bitch slap around here, I think I am going to enjoy my trips here for a long time to come! Ask my brother Wile, the old place we used to post at has turned into a refugee camp for middle aged adolescents and complete and udder jerks!
VERY GLAD to be around true Viking fans and professionals!
    Thanks Gang!

You did the quoting thing, just fine!

The streak is all the more reason to champion Tinglehoff!
He did 240 straight games - every game he ever played, I believe - as a CENTER!!!
At All-NFL level for six years, to boot.

DE is a sexier position, and everyone remembers Marshall for the wrong-way run.
At the end of the day, if the Vikings get to send one person into the room to argue, I think Mick needs to be argued first.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
